Spartacus
How are these events being funded ?Hopefully not by Southwark council as they stopped funding of the Dulwich Christmas cracker ! Abe_froeman
That video is hilarious. They've even put their own new barriers up between the planters to stop any kind of vehicle getting through. Someone should tell southwark cyclists. Rockets
I love the way they celebrate the fact the "Square" has been created whilst the newly-created A-road that is Dulwich Village roars in the background.I may be tempted to complain that they are blocking a major cycle route with these events....;-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/247332-ltn-our-healthy-streets-dulwich-phase-3/page/45/#findComment-1442386 Share on other sites

hopskip
It is interesting to see our Councillor turn up to support, no effort to social distance at this Covid-19 designated closed junction and Southwark Events confirming that the organisers have no licence to use this space as none have been issued under Covid measures. Southwark website:Please be aware that we are not currently accepting, or processing event applications. We are working to produce guidance for the recommencement of public outdoor events in Southwark, in line with recent Government recommendations and this information should be available shortly.https://www.southwark.gov.uk/events-culture-and-heritage/events/planning-an-event/hiring-a-park-or-public-open-space Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/247332-ltn-our-healthy-streets-dulwich-phase-3/page/45/#findComment-1442394 Share on other sites

Rockets
He hasn't been answering questions on anything for some time...not just the closure of DV which he supported and actively used to lobby the residents of Melbourne Grove to gain support and lobby for his proposed closures of said road...... It's still a road - there were still cyclists and pedestrians and a couple of people on mobility scooters looking to get through it all and finding it quite difficult, especially to maintain social distancing. Not going to be long before some idiot dancing in the "square" collides with a scooter or cyclist and blames the legitimate road user. By the way, Au Ciel is one of the two businesses supporting the closure. Wonder why? Lucky they got their alcohol licence virtually nodded through. roywj
I understand that gatherings of no more than 30 people are allowed. Looks like more than 30 people in the video. I wouldn?t be happy if I lived on Court Lane/Calton junction with all that going on outside, think the closure will be losing any remaining support with locals. thebestnameshavegone
Yeah, it was so much nicer and safer when it was an endless chain of white Range Rovers driving 1.5km trips on Really Important Errands.
