HELP Dell keyboard problem

I've done something to my keyboard.

Normally you press the blue FN button to get extra feaures from keys. I've done something and now have to press it for the normal function otherwise function becomes f4nct56n.

What have I done? Can anyone help

hahaha. no Brendan, I cleverly ascertained from an informative site on the intraweb that it was to do with the numberlock key which I had inadvertantly switched on.
