Maxie
Hi, can anybody please tell me if it is manageable to live in East Dulwich but for my daughter to attend nursery on Rosendale Road in West Dulwich? How long would it take to drive to do pick ups/drop offs or to walk? I am trying to get a feel for how big the areas are. If my daughter attended nursery in W. Dulwich then are we best to look for accommodation in W. Dulwich? Thanks you for any information you can provide. BeccaL
P13 bus goes between the two, but not that often - every 10-15 mins and is pretty busy in the mornings. Depending where you are in ED, walking or cycling might be quicker Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/24677-getting-from-east-dulwich-to-west-dulwich/#findComment-562690 Share on other sites
RichJ
Hello, we live in East Dulwich (very close to the station) and our two year old goes to Nelly's Nursery on Rosendale Road. I generally drive him there and then get the train to work from Tulse Hill. The drive there very much depends on the time of year. In school holidays, we can do it in 5-10 mins but in term time it can be much longer - more like 20 mins at peak times. I would guess it would be more like 35 mins to walk and I don't think there are many useful buses (although I have not looked into it). It is manageable although it does add an extra burden to our routine that I sometimes wish we didn't have to bother with. I think that generally the nurseries and primary schools are a little bit better in West Dulwich, so if that is your main priority, you might be better over there (although ED has many other advatanges over WD). Hope that helps. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/24677-getting-from-east-dulwich-to-west-dulwich/#findComment-562691 Share on other sites
Maxie
Thanks for your responses. It has helped a lot. RichJ, I think we will be in a similar situation and I hadn't thought about getting the train from Tulse Hill. My daughter is also due to attend Nelly's, how do you find the nursery? Thanks again. RichJ
Hi Maxie, we are very happy with Nelly's. We don't have much to compare it against (it got so many recommendations when we moved to the area that it was the only one we really looked at) but I can't really fault it. The staff are all lovely, the premises are nice, the food is good and it is generally very well run. Our little boy seems very happy there and loves all the staff. No hesitation in recommending it. esme
Travel from ED to WD def easiest by car as buses not that reliable (as someone above said)... I would def suggest looking for accommodation in WD if you plan to use a nursery there, Rosendale Rd is nice and you will probably find a place quite easily as there always seems to be quite a lot of property for sale / to rent. Good luck! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/24677-getting-from-east-dulwich-to-west-dulwich/#findComment-564662 Share on other sites
