Would you rather the council paid overtime to have it in the evening? I suspect the council are not paying much overtime at the moment.

Because the council offices, and staff are paid for regardless. Moving the concilliation meeting to ED community centre has alredy cost the tax payer unnecessary money as the venue had to be hired. If anything TGE should foot costs.
As i said,if its important people will be there. Maybe its a way of weeding out non serious objectors? 'gainfully employed' people take time off work to attend hospital appts, repairmen etc, they dont expect it to be out of working hours! Anyway, back on topic. . .

IT'S A DISGRACE!!!

Only working people that are employed during the day are entitled to an opinion on this.

No representation without taxation.

FFS!!

Thanks Minty - but I dont see why non workers shouldnt comme along at 6 too!

Yes its a disgrace?! Also its those who have to get up in the morning - for work- the taxpayers who have a big stake in preventing these late opening hours.

The application for late opening has been withdrawn.

Why don't one of you who really cares about this (djsenior I'm looking at you) phone the pub, or go in there, and just ask exactly what the current state of play is regarding the application. I am sure the nice people working in there, who are not your enemy, they don't own the place, will happily tell you what they know.
anyone would think the meeting time and place, incidentally where all other such decisions across the borough are made, is planned deliberately to upset ed residents... y should this one application be any different to others eh?

Whatabout perhaps granting these nice people a licence....see how it goes...at least one would have a clear idea of the

noise levels and behaviour of our slightly tipsy but otherwise well mannered community members patronising the place.

If I does become intolerable then I am sure the forum will come very alive, the council will know about it, and somrthing

will be done. after all they are laws regarding loud noise.

But the extended hours part of the application HAS BEEN WITHDRAWN.

Meanwhile, two residents of Crystal Palace Road, were jailed for smuggling cocaine into the country (as reported by SLP). Perhaps ED isn't quite the utopia some think it should be ;)

TGE can apply for a a variation in its licence at any time, as many times as it likes, same for TENS so may not be over, just a different tactic. And all those that were glad to see the back of the CPT,& welcome TGE should be careful what they wish for.

    • As a result of the Horizon scandal it now seems very clear that the Post Office management are highly disingenuous and not be trusted!  There needs to be a campaign launched to challenge the threatened closure, unless the Post Office can demonstrate beyond doubt that the branch is loss making - and even then it could argued that better management could address this. I hope the local media take this up and our MP  and a few demonstrations outside wouldn’t do any harm. Bad publicity can be very effective!
    • Unlikely. It would take a little more than a bit of Milton to alter the pH of eighty-odd thousand gallons of water.
    • It actually feels as though what I said is being analytically analysed word by word, almost letter by better. I really don't believe that I should have to explain myself to the level it seems someone wants me to. Clearly someones been watching way too much Big Brother.
