Driving instructor recommendation

I haven't posted a recommendation here before but just wanted to recommend Nick Pauli of Nicholas Driving Academy (http://www.nicholasdrivingacademy.co.uk/). I'm really enjoying learning to drive with Nick around Dulwich and Beckenham at the moment. I'm 40+ and was quite nervous at first but Nick's been brilliant and really built up my confidence as well as my skills.

Hi everyone, hope your all okay during these challenging times. I?ve been a qualified driving instructor in Dulwich and surrounding area since 1984 so pretty well established! I?ve taught lots of different types of pupils form novice to advanced all ages and backgrounds. I specialise in motorway/refresher/PassPlus courses etc. Hopefully sooner rather than later we can get back to some normality and the lockdown will be eased. Anyone considering driving lessons feel free to contact me. I keep my my tuition vehicle very clean and it?s wiped before and after every lesson throughly and I?ve stuck strictly to the government guidelines and I wouldn?t dream of teaching until it?s safe to do so. (Lessons in own car more than welcome)

Nick's a great instructor, really looking forward to getting back to lessons with Nick next week. I had my test booked just as lockdown kicked in. Hoping to get a new test date in the next few weeks. A few refreshers with Nick and I know I'll be ready :)

To add to this thread...

I?ve just finished having a few refresher lessons with Nick having not driven for 14 years.

I would highly recommend Nick as a driving instructor. His calm demeanour and relaxed attitude is reassuring. His local knowledge of the area is also great.

He had me driving down to Tunbridge Wells after 3 lessons.

Thanks Nick.

Hi everyone hope your all well and coping with this lockdown. I?m hoping to resume driving lessons as soon as possible and when safe and permitted. Set your goals prepare for your theory tests because this virus want be around for ever and with good news of the vaccines etc I can only be optimistic that driving lessons could resume sooner rather then later.

Stay safe and in touch hope to see you on the road soon.

This lockdown seems so long, hopefully this should be the last and let?s all have great Easter and summer. Anyone thinking about driving feel free to drop me a line whether your beginner or advanced refresher or lessons in own vehicle. Stay safe everyone!

Regards

    • Have heard them twice this afternoon. Have binoculars at the ready.....are there any other birds that make similar calls? It's a very distinctive sound. Stand by!
    • Do you have any binoculars?  My first ever sighting of swifts was when I was lying in the park, trying out some 10x25s.  Nothing at all  within plain sight, but when I was playing around with the focus -- presumably for clouds or planes -- suddenly there they were.   I've still never heard any in real life though.  The sample I heard on the BBC website sounded fairly high frequency and not very loud, so I suppose I might miss some; but then there have been precious few reports I've seen here of any being heard.  The only one I remember is Jenny1's last year.
    • None of that makes any sense. Rumour and vibes-based governance...   Meanwhile, thanks in part to the NIMBY tendencies of certain councillors, 23 London council areas saw 0 (zero) new housing units under construction in Q1 2024. Pitiful. About 724,000 (net) people moved to the UK in 2024, a sizeable chunk of them to London. The already high demand for housing is increasing, and the supply isn't changing at all. Rent prices (and therefore taxpayer funds paid to private landlords through Housing Benefit) are going up...and new housing units are objected to because they're "visible" and because a fear that rich foreign students will live there.
