Michael Palaeologus
Yes - in that you can travel to and from Peckham Rye using Oyster. They dont have Oyster readers though and probably dont sell Oyster charge-ups. Occasionally they do ticket checks and the people doing these have hand held Oyster readers. AllforNun
There's the problem right there, when you swipe these things how are you supposed to know what on it ? it's not like the soak that you have just rolled is going to tell you what he's got on his card ! Michael Palaeologus
This is true. I suspect that only Travelcards are allowed, possibly not pre-pay? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/2459-peckham-rye-query/#findComment-72491 Share on other sites
Asset
Only travelcards on network rail services, not prepay oyster. I think there is a deal going through whereby we will be able to use prepay on overground but not rolling it out for a while yet. AllforNun
If you have a reciept with your oyster of say a travel card etc then they are fine with it. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/2459-peckham-rye-query/#findComment-72497 Share on other sites

Scruffy Mummy
Yes, but you can't use pay as you go on the rail services yet - just buses and the tube. If you have a travelcard on Oyster, you can use it on the train. If you try to use a pay as you go on a train, while you can get on the train easily enough at Peckham, you'll be stopped at the station at the other end as the pay as you go isn't recognised. So it's best not to try it (you could however, take a train to London Bridge, change and go to Waterloo East and get off as they haven't yet installed barriers there or so I've heard!)
