carlhe
I want to post a message of support for the Organic Village shop on Lordship Lane (near East Dulwich Grove). They are now selling a range of zero waste items such as milk on tap (& reusable glass bottles) wine, oils & vinegars on tap, cleaning products and dry foods. I had a long chat with the owner, Amarjit, who is passionate about reducing plastic waste & changing the way we shop. The shop has been there for a while but I think the new range is a great addition to the street, as I often don?t have time to get to the zero waste shops in Nunhead/Peckham. I?m in no way affiliated to the shop (just in case anyone was wondering!), but happy to support local businesses & any initiatives to help the environment. Brandome19
Thank you very much for supporting local business to reduce the plastic waste to help the environment. Here at orgnaic village market we are very passoniate to achieve our targets to request 40 households locally to reduce their plastic waste by 30% annually. We are constantly adding new product and your suggestion on starting the spices and herb range has been taken on board and it will be starting very soon. Another suggestion of advertising it has been implemented (see attached Banner). Our goal is to achieve 2000 products those are absolutely packaging free by end 31/03/2020. If you have any other suggestion please do let us know. PlantPower
This is good news that you are trading on Lordship Lane! Are you near Franco Manco / Sweaty Betty? Are you in the shop unit that was Green Kitchen? Please do some marketing and promo so us locals know you exist :-) There is a similar outlet on Bellenden Road I think? We all need to be doing our best to fight climate change and environmental breakdown. The shop in Bellenden Road is called Gather. It is excellent, and the people running it are lovely. Gubodge
I'm glad others are promoting Organic Village. I was disappointed the other day to see As Nature Intended really busy, but far fewer people in (what I still refer to as ) Andreas's. Support your local independents, people!I think part of the problem is that people just assume from the front that it's a general grocer and don't realise that you've got the amazing range of turkish pastries down the back, as well as all the zero-packaging goods. Brandome19
Hi all , I hope you all are keeping well. I just wanted to update that we at organic village market on lordship lane do still have quite few groceries left in zero waste section - rice , pulses , beans , flour etc. And we have been going to fruit and vegetables market every morning and collecting fresh produces . So far we only haven?t been able to get bananas from the market. We will be soon setting up the team to deliver fresh produce and groceries to elderly.
