Just moved into area - telco and internet providers

Hi we are having terrible trouble finding a telco/internet provider that can supply us a landline and internet connection before the end of Sept. Anyone recommend a provider? So far we've been told by two telco's that East Dulwich is key to the Olympics and therefore no further work will be completed til the end of all the games.....

Anyone with any ideas on how we can be connected in the meantime?

We went with virgin and we only had to wait about 3 weeks, that was cable rather than ADSL, it may be worth going for that if there's a backlog on the standard connections.
