That wasn't my point.

Presumably the council will make good any damage, who pays for it - who knows? Try a FOI to the council to see the contract held between them and TM. That will disclose if they are required to pay for damage to the green or if the nomark who wrote the contract included such a clause or not. You'll also learn how much the council reaped from "renting" out the green to TM for a few weeks.

There's a connection between underfunded councils and using council open spaces for commercial ventures, of which there are far more than there were 10 years ago. Ignore the relationship all you want, but we'll be back here in 6 months talking about another event on another park and how it's wrong.

I politely decline to enter into some spat over the election result, I'm not a Labour election strategist so the loss is not really mine. But thanks for reminding me that you exist.

    • I don't care if they had every band I loved in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, the fact is we're surrounded by residential areas, and those who live not just around the park but for a good mile beyond, the noise is too loud. I can hear today's (23 May 2025 - 2pm onwards) noise from the east side of the park, and I had to shut my double glazed balcony doors and windows and can STILL hear it, from the other side of the park.   events@southwark.gov.uk and 02075255777 noise complaints.  In the news are items about people who listen to their music or speak to people on their phones loudly without headphones so we all hear it.  This is the same.
    • Tau and the team from TM City Landscapes did a great job on my garden patio with retaining wall and rendering project. I would highly recommend. • Ah but they do -  Janet Kay as well on Monday, but sadly I am away.  Surely nobody can complain about some Lovers Rock.  Surely.....
    • I am not here to justify or excuse Lambeth Council's decisions,  but you would have to be very very naive not to understand that cancelling several eventsof that size at auch short notice would be anything other than financially catastrophic for all involved.
