Hello, I thought I'd share this here, as a lot of migrant voters are still not aware that they might be allowed to vote in the upcoming general elections.

To vote in a UK general election a person must be registered to vote and also:

- 18 or over

- be a British citizen, a qualifying Commonwealth citizen or a citizen of the Republic of Ireland

- not be subject to any legal incapacity to vote

Before you can vote, you must first register to vote. The process is simple and usually only takes 5 minutes.I The easiest is to register online. Go to: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. The deadline is 26 November 2019.

You can also register directly with your local electoral registration office. To find your local electoral registration office, and contact them directly, go to: https://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/register-to-vote/find-your-local-authority.

    • Does anyone have any experience reducing the solar gain from their windows and roof lights?  E.g. using window film, low u-value glass and/or external shutters? What and who do you recommend?  How much did it cost and when?  We have a fairly standard south facing ED terrace with Velux windows (internal blinds only), a roof light, uPVC double-glazed sash windows and wooden double-glazed french door all fitted 2015ish. Trying to future proof the house against future hot summers without resorting to air con.
    • I think these kids are starting to come from the park into residential road I live of a road very close to the park and just had a kid knock on door stood with his tongue hanging out clearly trying to intimidate and his friend was laughing. Is there anything  I can do in terms of registering it with the police ?   edit - called 101 and gave a very detailed  description (sorry I’d have deleted the post  if I could !)
    • Well, he’s just turned up. 17 days.  very thin and seems a bit traumatised. Presumably been trapped somewhere.  I’d love to know where!
