We've just moved to East Dulwich and have been looking into nursery schools for our daughter and finding that most are full and have waiting lists. I've called 3 that say they are full and have waiting lists, and I've noticed on the forum that other schools I was planning to call are full in the fall as well. She really needs to go to school. She was in nursery in our last neighborhood and loved it and misses it, and she misses having a regular set of friends to play with. She is almost 4 years old. Does anyone know of any schools that have lower waiting lists than others (or no waiting list) or any alternative ideas? Thanks, Leigh

how close to 4? Should she be starting reception class in September? If she is 4 before 31 August she should be going to full time school. If you are a late applicant not sure if you do that via the school or Southwark. If she's not 4 til September then Oaktree, Amott Road pre school, half moon montessori, First Steps, Gumboots all get good reviews. If you are flexible on days it helps. There will be others. School nurseries like Heber, Goodrich, Ivydale etc will all have places allocated but there may be no shows in September.

    • Personally I feel its a shame for the tree. The bridge looks pretty badly damaged-I just hope it does'nt mean the entrance from Dulwich Common/Lordship Lane will be closed for ages while they fix it.
    • This is such a shame for the bridge.  I wonder if anyone saw it fall, and when it was (at night?) Is the walking path through the woods still accessible?
    • Free range chickens &/ organic whole chickens are around £15-20 retail these days…  Given their credentials in hospitality etc I’d assume Norbert’s has sourced decent quality chicken, wholesale. The fact they aren’t saying anything about that on the menu or website seems strange…  if it were true it would help justify the price. Chicken & 2 x Chips - would work out £10.50 a head between 4… not bad if it’s decent quality chicken and seasoned well with care & skill
    • I have no lawn but still trying to get wild flowers to germinate. After a couple of years sowing seeds I've finally managed to produce some ox eye daisies. Still trying to succeed with cornflowers, vipers bugloss to name but a few. A couple of foxgloves are coming up. Its a gradual process for which we need lots of patience. Don't forget after No Mow May it's Let it Bloom June.
