It was a retired warship. First the RAF bombed it (and missed). Then another warship shot at it and knocked some bits & pieces off, singeing a few areas. Finally I was able to sink it with a torpedo - one shot, broke its back - stem and stern rising to the sky before sinking beneath the waves.

I definitely picked the wrong career.

The only thing I have destroyed in the line of duty was a fax machine that wouldn?t co-operate. The only thing that has ever been genuinely frightening was interviewing Ann Widdecombe.

    • If you're looking for stunning, long-lasting and eco-friendly raised beds for your garden I can strongly recommend Ben (gardener-carpenter based in Camberwell) who recently made a set of raised beds / planter boxes for my garden! We had a consultation on the phone, he shared some ideas and options plus prices and then I sent him my desired measurements for the planters and he had them built and delivered to me within 2 weeks. He can also fill with compost and help with planting selection and sourcing. I'm so happy with these and Ben's fantastic craftmanship! He uses a wood preservation technique called Yakisugi to not only ensure the timber has long life but create a beautiful striking effect by bringing out the grain. He also uses reclaimed wood and natural oil to treat the boards, so they are safe/perfect for food-growing. See the photos below and if you would like some planters or other pieces built for your own garden, get in touch with him on his contact details here: email: [email protected] phone: 07757268809 Whether you’re after raised beds, compost bays or garden furniture, Ben's your man to create something unique, durable, and sustainable. I can't recommend his work highly enough!
