Further to SingingWilks comment above, maybe you should consider the area in between Peckham Rye and ED stations? You would still be very close to ED Lordship Lane etc but also within easy reach of Peckham Rye station (which has a better service than ED station). You'd be in SE15 but arguably closer to ED's main shops/pubs etc than mamny parts of SE22.
Honestly, at your age, I would rent in a cheaper area. At some point you will want a mortgage? If so all the money you can save now could go towards a deposit. Have you considered New Cross, Lewisham, Nunhead, Old Kent Road, Bermondsey, Sydenham, Crystal Palace, Lee Green, Eltham itself? All of those will cost you a couple of hundred less per month in rent.

Ahem! Have you ever been to Eltham?

I was not sure you could travel to Eltham from Peckham Rye...

Time table

It would appear at the very best at least 1 change was reuired. ie. Travel to London Bridge then back out.

Some journeys required 3 changes..

Journey time 44-56 mins not good

Fox.

After reading all this self- satisfied, borderline delusional propaganda why would you want to move here?! It's nicer than ahem South Norwood and Penge but that's not saying much. It's actually pretty dull and suburban but if you want to base your quality of life on an array of pleasant but hideously overpriced croissants it's a paradise.

Er, weird couple of posts.

Where's all the delusion Granc - actually alot of people on this thread saying precisely that it is a bit dull and surburban for a 20 something...did you raed any of it or just pile in?

And as for Jimmy, I can only see one bit of venom on this thread...step forward, take a bow.

i'd consider camberwell instead. 15 minutes walk to ED if you fancy the cafe's and shops/ parks and more young at heart with loads of frequent nightbuses from all over london. much younger and trendier. i lived in west hampstead for a year when i was in my early 20's and god it was boring. ED is in general a bit more middle-aged. also camberwell will be cheaper. good luck whatever you decide.

    • Hello,  Does anyone know of a garage to rent in the East Dulwich area?  Best,  Anthony
    • So glad to give support in any small way. It happens more often than you think. I live near a footpath anf once came home from holiday to find that someone had poured paint through the bottom of the fence which had run all down through my soil and on to my plants. It was a job trying to dig out all the contaminated soil and to this day I still find bits of paint in the soil. No idea who it was or why they would do such a thing.
    • Glad this is back on, looking forward to seeing you all tonight
    • Hello,  I am a journalist for the Sunday Times investigating VW car badge's being stolen for a news story. I saw this thread and would love to speak to any of those who posted who had this happen to them. It doesn't have to be a VW, I'm also interested in covering other car owners/makes hit by this crime. My contact details are below - please get in touch if you can help or if you have heard about someone who has fallen victim to this locally  give them my details and let them know I would like to speak to them. Particularly interested in hearing from @KB77 @jim_the_chin @d walker @ed26 @OG25  on this thread if you could email or call me. Thanks!
