J27
Some time today, someone threw a stone at our front window and shattered it (I found pieces of the stone). Luckily the shards haven't fallen out yet, but it's a security risk even so. Will have to pay a lot of money to get it replaced tomorrow - it's a big pane of glass :-(Just wondering if this is a one-off, or if there's been a spate of it in the area...We live near Piermont Road.J Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/240452-broken-window/ Share on other sites

Penguin68
I was once warned (by a glazier) that burglars broke windows so that when they were replaced they could return and remove the pane simply whilst the putty was still malleable.I don't know whether that was true and still is, but you might want to be cautious if the broken window could give access to your house without glass in it.Equally it might have been broken by a stone flying up from a wheel accidently, if it is close to a road where traffic might pass at a little speed. JohnL
Did you have anything political/brexit related in your window - I've heard of that and messages written on the bricks thrown. Countrlass22
Nope. No chance car hitting stone flying to hit window to far away. Neither seen be trye re glaziers tale.Likely more game playing on half term accident of hitting glass.
