Has anyone done this. We are moving to Canada fairly soon and would like to bring the buggy with us, rather than put in the shipping container. Also I may be travelling on my own with a my new baby and 2 year old and need to be able to contain them in the airport and on the other end.

If you were able to bring it could you bring it to the gate or did you need to check it?

Thanks

Lisa

Hi Lisa - we've travelled quite a few times with our Phil and Teds - easyjet and BA. Both airlines let us bring it up to the airline steps but at the other side you don't get it back until you get your luggage so you might want to bring a sling for the baby. They just put two tags on it - one on the main pushchair and one on the doubles seat and then get you to fold it and pull it apart. It's always worked fine for us.

I travelled to the US under very similar circumstances. If you check in a stroller at the gate with most airlines, they will give it back to you at the gate at the other end. I found it useful to take an extra baggage strap or belt to connect the doubles kit onto the folded Phil & Teds. I took the carrycot part onto the plane with me.

I also took reins for the toddler and a sling for the baby, as a back up in case we had to wait a long time at the gate or at immigration.

Good luck!
