Au pair pay

Just wondering , what do people pay au pairs for a 30 hour week ? We want to make sure we are being fair. Love to hear stories. Thanks.

We paid ?120/130 I think (it?s worth checking as there is an upper limit). I know some people pay a lot less though.

Please pay them. I can't tell you how often I come across au pairs who don't get paid, or have to buy food from their "pocket money". They are meant to earn enough to pay for some English classes.

Au pair plus is ?120 to ?150 for up to 35 hours per week. We required our au pairs to work about 18 hrs and paid ?75, plus covered all living costs. They were free to earn money outside our home and most did, as we did not require a huge number of hours. There is a fine line between giving someone enough to enjoy living in London on a studenty type budget, and attracting potential au pair that prioritises pay over the experience of living with a London family. After a couple of bad experiences we reduced our pay and hours to focus on people who wanted the experience.
