With all due respect, Lordship lane is full of stores, very similar to each other, we have at least 6 or 7 pizza places, iv lost count. 9 cafes, and delis doubling up as cafes. about 5 delis, 5 whole food Healthstores. I really don't think people have an issue in repeating what we already have.

Thats very careless of you foxy, have you looked behind the sofa or under the bed for them.

They are more than likely in the same place as your car keys 😂

And Boulangerie Jade and thd Blackbird (seven days a week 5 minutes walk away and in the market on Saturdays). I?d love to know what sort of bakery goods aren?t covered by those 4.

Did you lose that as well ? Maybe it's where you left the curry houses 🤔😂

Five?

There's Health Matters obviously.

SMBS and Organic Village sell wholefoods.

There's the new place, can't remember what it's called.

Have I missed one? Gather is brilliant for wholefoods, but it's in Bellenden Road, not Lordship Lane.

We have probably one of the Best Pie and Mash shops 'on the Planet' nearby in Peckham.

This photo of M.Manze Peckham is courtesy of TripAdvisor

I cannot see any outlet on Lorship Lane matching those prices.

It would be 'Posh' Pies. Probably ?10 - ?12 at the very best.

That is NOT what Pie and Mash is all about.

Foxy

ETA Manze in Peckham is Cash only..

A decent Chinese restaurant would be great - I don't rate the food at the newly refurbed Mr Liu's and it's also quite pricey. Also a Vietnamese restaurant would be fantastic although I don't mind doing the bus ride to Camberwell. I would like to support local restaurants on Lordship Lane but find myself underwhelmed by the stodgy and expensive offerings.

This would mean you actually venturing into Peckham of course. And drawing out cash there too. You don't normally advocate either...

Give it a Rest. you are getting boring.

I am In Peckham several times a week. FFS I was born there and lived there for 28 years.

Why would I need to draw out cash there ??

I use Manze. My late mother used that same shop back in the 1930s/40s

She worked in the shop next door.

I just do not find the need to eat or drink there at night.

Lordship Lane on my door step provides me with most of my needs.

You know. Supporting my Local traders.

Please find someone else to harass.

Think we will all stop calling you out on Peckham issues when you stop running it down!

Your respect is appreciated, but unnecessary... you can shoot from the hip, it's water off a duck's back, etc etc. Add in any further idioms/proverbs as necessary.

I do think that Lordship Lane is close enough to Bellenden Rd and the south of Rye Lane to be considered direct competition. But yes I suppose the wider area could take two decent Thai or Middle-Eastern restaurants.

There was also a wider point I was making, in an admittedly goading manner.. that Peckham has lots going on, if you're willing to take the short-ish walk and put up with the admittedly scruffy main road.

    • No they were created by a Hong Kong artist and became a craze when a K-Pop girl band became associated with them. They do limited editions and they've become a collectors item (Like Jelicat for adults)- I'm a bit ashamed that at 65 years old I know so much about them but they are very much a fashionable item. And I'm always interested in Popular Culture. Whover lost it must be gutted because I understand that when you buy one (they're boxed) you never know which one or what colour you'll get...so if the owner loved that one it may be very difficult to replace.
