Jenny the street cleaner in Lordship Lane has leaflets and she is letting her colleagues know. Similar bods in Waterloo were wonderfully helpful.

Local churches of all denominations are being so helpful.

Local buses that we can catch are displaying the poster and have been stalwarts.

Dial a ride we haven't thought of and will pursue.

Thank you.

Saw a poster on Barry road tonight when I was out running and just come on here to see if there was anything about it. I will share this with as many people as possible on facebook etc and will organise my routes running around the areas mentioned above. Will also tell everyone i know in the area.

Really hope you can find him.

Thoughts are with you all.

You know what, Earl of East Dulwich, you've given me an idea!! Thats great about changing your running to see if he is along the routes mentioned. I don't run, but, if enough runners out there were available to help - how about a properly organised run, where people would cover certain areas on their route? People will be exercising as normal, but there would be potentially a good sized area covered, all at the same time! I hope that makes sense.
Im up for helping organise this - anyone else able to help? I don't have a clue where to begin! Pick a day? Create a thread on here, link it to the FB page and other pages on FB? Find out which areas people can cover, where it would prudent to cover?? Help!!! :) Organise a number of meeting points for people so they can set off at the same time?
Okay, let me start a separate thread, so that other ideas and messages don't get mixed up with a "running" thread. And see what interest we can generate. Can people post the thread wherever it may be helpful and go from there. But seriously, I dont know the areas at all, so thats why I will need help on this. I will get the ball moving for now :) And thank you Pickle!

Has One Tree Hill been searched?

My friend works in TfL, I asked had she any ideas what could be done. She said to contact the external press office, they may be able to help. ([email protected] & 0845 604 4141 (for media queries only I believe from the site).

She said if he had a Freedom pass the police could try and trace his movements. I am sure that this will already have been done, but thought I'd repeat what she said, just in case.

Was the Waterloo sighting confirmed? Could he have been trying to get to somewhere and is there anywhere in his history where trains from Waterloo may go to, that may have some sort of connection ie Southhampton etc? Just thinking that it may be worth looking further afield within the UK.

I've been FB'ing and Tweeting this relentlessly and will continue to do.

I also postered Elephant & Castle tube station and encourage anyone with the facility to poster to do so anywhere they can.

Shared on FB and Twitter. Will also tell partner (who runs locally) and sons to look out for him. I'll also email East Dulwich Writers' Group - 250+ people on list. This must be agony for those who know and love him. Thoughts are with you and hoping for a happy resolution.

    • I was in Forest Hill Road today, just past the Rye, and noticed there is a dentist next to the Herne (pub) that has NHS signs outside. I've never had any problems getting NHS dental treatment in East Dulwich, and I get regular check ups. I've been to three  different dental practices here over the years, all with NHS treatment. I think the difficulties are in other parts of the country. Malumbu has a good explanation above. I didn't hear the Radio 4 programme, but I'm guessing that a  radio programme is not going to have time to say where you CAN easily get NHS treatment, and is bound to focus on the negatives and the horror stories, otherwise it would be very boring! ETA: Re children's teeth, I think the major issue is not lack of dentists, it is children being given sugary food, drinks and confectionery which rots their teeth. The education of parents needs to be about this, not just about tooth brushing. And in some cases the poor diet may also be due to lack of money for healthy food. Though of course the lack of dentists doesn't help, if  the tooth rotting can't be rectified by fillings or extraction.
    • Well, I hope you like what you see, the hot air, lack of answers and continual blaming things on the last Government and the made up blackhole, I find are nauseating. The man needs to see reality, because I'd guess that if we had a snap election tomorrow and based on the first six months of this parliament, Labour would get trounced. When the election does finally happen and if that isn't before the people rise up and throw this lot out, Labour will not be voted back in for a millennium.
    • Yes thanks that's exactly the choices I get.  I will block and if somehow they find a way back I'll report.
