atila the gooner
I spent my honeymoon in Sicily, the place we stayed was on the Corso Umberto in a place called Taormina, absolutely gorgeous it was too, especially as the hotel had its' own private beach which could only be accessed by cable car and a mini bus ride. We had the best time ever, great food, great hospitality, wonderful scenery, would love to go back. We had a day visit to a village where some of the scenes for Godfather 2 was filmed, great memories. annaj
We also spent our honeymoon in Sicily and loved it. We stayed in Letojanni, a lovely, quiet fishing town about 10 minutes down the coast from Taormina. Taormina is lovely, but does get busy and it was nice to have our apartment to go back to. We went with Think Sicily - http://thinksicily.com and I would highly recommend them. DaveR
I also went to Sicily for my honeymoon (had previously lived there), but more specifically to Lipari, the largest of the Aeolian Islands. We stayed in an apartment owned by the family who own a really good restaurant on the island, Filipino. I've looked at their website and they have obviously expanded since then, but I guess where we stayed was the residence mendolita. We had a fantastic time, and the owners were great - they booked stuff for us and got discounts, gave us free drinks when we had dinner in the restaurant etc. I would also recommend the Aeolian islands generally for a relaxing trip, but don't go in August Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/2383-sicily-can-anyone-recommend-any-small-villas/#findComment-79611 Share on other sites
