Countjc
Apologies for a rather random post but wondering if anyone might have some tips.We are driving down to Padstow in Cornwall this week and looking to split up the journey for a few hours so that our toddler can have a run around and I can feed the baby!We are going the A303 route as leaving from my parents place in Surrey and so I was originally thinking Stonehege but the weather is now looking appalling so am searching around for somewhere else. Many thanks if anyone has any ideas! Polly D
You could stop at Tisbury - think is technically Dorset but just off the a303 - and have a drink/feed/runaround/bar snacks at the Beckford Arms. It's a gorgeous pub with bedrooms, lovely garden if you get a glimmer of sun, child friendly, v restorative. We just did the return journey yesterday in pouring rain and only stopped at boring and expensive service stations. lucyA1308
Tisbury is lovely. There are a couple of villages around there, and it is about half way, or just slightly over half way. Avoid getting out at Stonehenge. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/23802-places-to-stop-en-route-to-cornwall/#findComment-550089 Share on other sites
Countjc
Just wanted to say thanks for the fantastic tip off about the Beckford Arms in Tisbury. Was the perfect place to stop and they are so child friendly, really made the journey down easy.
