dulwich plumbing and heating

Would also recommend Daniel and Chris from Dulwich Plumbing and Heating. I came back from a trip to a plumbing emergency (turned out to be a leaking valve in the water tank) and was away again the next day. Daniel and Chris liaised with our neighbour, kept us informed and fixed the problem while we were away. All at a reasonable price.
They probably would if the plumber asked them to. There are quite a few recommendations by people who aren't newbies. Also a few posts that aren't recommendations. There was something posted a while back about a plumbing company who apparently offered people a payment for putting up a good rec on the Forum, but can't remember which co. it was.
I can assure you it wasn't my company. All of these recommendations are genuine most of our customers find us through the forum and trust us because of our recommendations. This is the good thing about the forum, you can read real peoples views on tradesmen and restaurants ect, anyway my company has tried very hard to build aN honest and trustworthy business and we pride ourselves on that. Thanks, Daniel.

I've replied to another thread re these people and really think I should post again for those who may have missed it

Sorry, I just had to reply to this message!

After Dan failed to turn up to have a look at our shower as promised, I contacted him again to rearrange a time. Having arranged a new time and he asked me to recommend him via this Forum, I said I could but only after he completed the job, and not before (which is what he seemed to be suggesting) - he failed to turn up again!!

2 afternoons wasted waiting for the same tradesman, what a total waste of time. The man who came to look at the boiler, think he runs a different company but they work alongside each other, was much more helpful.

Bl**dy brilliant!

Not a newbie and not someone who is inclined to post as I live in Scotland, but I felt I had to as I've had such a great experience and I know how tough it can be finding someone you trust and who does the job!

Called on Monday and spoke to Dan who seemed pleasant. He offered to go round in 30 mins to look at the tap my new tenants reported was leaking! Unfortunately tenants not around then, but job finished today, reasonable price and the tenants are gushing about what nice chaps Dan and his friend are. He's going back tomorrow to do another job I asked him to do this evening.

He couldn't have made it easier for me, a landlady living in Scotland, who really wants to provide a good and efficient service to my lovely tenants...he called to provide progress updates, did the job speedily and came recommended by the tenants. Pretty happy!

Another great review for these guys....they're now our plumbers of choice!

I called them on Sunday evening with a burst pipe gushing water between the floors in our house. They came straight around and fixed the problem quickly. They were friendly and efficient and their charges were really reasonable. Totally recommend them.

I would also recommend Daniel and Chris from Dulwich Plumbing and Heating. I have been meaning to register for a while now (yes, another newbie recommendation). Recently moved to Nunhead and Chris and Daniel came to refit a radiator which had been removed when we had damp proof work carried out. Very nice guys, job proved a bit time consuming than they'd hoped, but they didn't complain, and even helped me out by putting a board up on the wall so the electricity guy could put up a new meter (health and safety rules meant he couldn't do it, and of course the electric company hadn't warned me in advance).

Good guys recommended.

A word of warning ? use the phone number provided in this thread ? don?t google Dulwich plumbing and heating as you may get the wrong number. After reading all the positive comments about Dulwich Plumbing and Heating on this forum, I told my husband to use them when we needed an emergency plumber. He googled them and got this company and phoned the 0800 number:

http://www.heatingcentral.com/boilers/plumbers/uk/london/dulwich/dulwich-plumbing-and-heating

The engineer arrived without the parts for the job (despite being told exactly what was required on the phone) and charged for his time in going to the shops to get the required equipment. Their call out fee was ?90 + VAT and included up to one hour?s work and then they charged ?90 + VAT for each subsequent hour. The 25 minute ?trip to the shop? took the total time of the job to one hour 20 minutes and we were charged for a full hour for the extra 20 mins.

If they had brought the right equipment, the job would have cost ?90+VAT as it was a 45min job at most. Because the engineer didn?t bring the correct parts (which are standard equipment for any plumber worth their salt), we were charged ?180+VAT + ?10 for parts (max cost ?3, and that?s from B&Q).

We got this reduced to ?135 + VAT after phoning the head office but that was still ?45 more than it should have been.

They also claimed that we needed a new boiler pump at a cost of ?1000+VAT when our boiler only cost ?500 in total and had only recently been checked and found to be fine. Terrible service.

We have had a terrible experience with Daniel today and would recommend extreme caution in following ay of these recommendations.

They have not repaired any of the problems they agreed to repair.

Having visited earlier in the week to establish what parts were needed they then turned up this morning only to leave ten minutes later to "get parts". They didn't return for well over two hours only, again, to disappear after ten minutes "to get parts". Another two hours passed and they returned, but their "repair" to our leaking toilets didn't solve the problem. So we felt it simply wasn't safe to let them tackle the other problems in the house.

This has been one of my worst ever experiences with a tradesman.

Polly

I have always been very satisfied with work carried out by Daniel and / or his brother (Sorry, can't remember his name). We have had a few unrelated plumbing issues over the last few months including dodgy boiler, leaky toilet, crazy shower. Each time I contacted Dulwich Plumbing and Heating they came within a few hours.

They always showed me the problem and explained the solution so I felt confident I was not being ripped off. Daniel even helped me order a spare part for the shower online for a few quid and came to fit it as soon as it arrived.

I highly recommend their service.

These guys are a fraud. after charging me ?150 and failling to repair my leaking WC. After numerous phone calls, and failed appointments. Ive given up. I am unable to find them registered anywhere. They are definately not on the Gas Safe Register. Or any Plumbing registration body.

PLEASE BEWARE OF DAN !

I am Daniel and have never heard of Debora it seems to me that someone is trying to tarnish my name very random supposedly came to fix a toilet and there checking out my gas safe? Seems a bit wired. It's a shame there are people out there that would try to ruin someone's reputation. Thanks Daniel

Dan responded to my initial text very quickly, didn't come on the initial day due to unforeseen circumstances but identified the problem with my toilet from a picture that I sent him & came back within a few days to fix the problem. They were quick, reasonably priced & friendly, all sorted!

Daniel responded to our leaking kitchen sink tap the same day and replaced the mixer tap as both hot and cold feed were affected.

He kept me informed of progress and we have no hesitation about recommending the company to other ED based companies and private householders.

Nice job and fair price.

Eagles and seagulls have also been seen on large numbers in the area.  I'd keep away as it could be carnage. Certainly watch your ice cream cornets and perhaps wear ear plugs. Not sure if this is anything to do with the local authority or the Labour government, no doubt someone will find a link.
