This ride starts from Canada Water Library in Deal Porter Square, opposite Canada Water Station, SE16 7AR. The station is on the Overground with large lifts which will take three bikes. There is flat access to the rail network at East Dulwich station and an easy change across the platform to the Overground at Peckham Rye. Or you can cycle -- it's not far (safe but wiggly. It starts at 10am and lasts two hours if you stay the whole way.

The guys are planning an easy-paced ride to the Bermondsey Street Festival. Details of the festival are on Facebook, here: https://www.facebook.com/events/bermondsey-street-london-se1-3-united-kingdom/bermondsey-street-festival-2019/796591114075486/

There's lots to see on the way, which starts with a long diversion around the north bank of the Thames. The group will go west along the Thames path to Tower Bridge. They will cross Tower Bridge then use pedestrian crossing to get to the slip road down to St Katherines Dock. The over the Red Bridge and through to the Hermitage Riverside Memorial Garden and on to Ivory Dock. North to Royal Mint St and Cycleway 3.

Then west to Tower Hill and via Cycleway 5 to The Monument, across London Bridge and down Borough High St to Newcomen St (Cycleway 14) and follow this to Bermondsey St to see the Festival. There will be a 20 minute stop here to look at the action and some people may want to stay. Those who don't will have a straightforward return to Deal Porter Square along Cycleway 14 route which goes mostly along or close to the Thames. The route is here:

    • I have to join this thread..I have'nt stepped in dog poo for years and years and then twice in the last couple of months North X road and Felbrigg road. To add insult to injury both times its been with my right foot which superstition says is bad luck So thats doubly sh**ty😩
    • Good for you. What happens when you get to sodding Tesco and the crappy instore Hermes terminal is broken, and the store workers aren't trained to fix it, and there's no way for the punter to contact Hermes IT (as if it were our job to fix it)? What happens when you get to the parcel locker to drop off a package and the machine can't scan the label that it itself printed several seconds beforehand? What happens when each shop requires a different bar code, QR code, reference code and ID to send and receive a simply package? These are all things that have happened to me in the last month alone, despite your implications that people who want to use the Post Office are thickies and troglodytes. It's all a stupid inefficient pain in the ring that is unnecessarily complicated. What is wrong with this country that it can't run a decent, simple post office?
    • Anyone doing a clearout?  I'm looking for a yoga bolster.  Thanks!
    • I use it on a weekly basis for a couple of reasons. It's generally always busy and well staffed. It's certainly more than just a drop off point for parcels and packages. I will use other shops on the lane whilst I'm down there. I'd imagine the PO being there brings a fair bit of footfall to the area.          As opposed to having to wait for customer in front of me to get there phone out, type in four digits to unlock the phones screen, then piss about scrolling to find the correct app before they eventually put the phone on the reader. Same in many Instances with cards. If you have such an issue with people using that dirty evil cash then surely the self service / card only tills are your friend!!
