So you two wouldn't sell through this agent, even if you had the type of property that they had the best track record in selling - because of the blurb?

Or pass on TheHouseOfYourDreams? - for the same reason?

You're nuthin' but a lotta talk an' a badge.

You really think it makes a difference what they write? I don't.

Probably not, but I would feel dirty (in a bad way).

No.. but you reckon you'd be put-off dealing with them because of it.

And come on.. feeling dirty is an inescapable part of buying or selling a house!

You must have been popular with your hopeful buyers. Why would you do that?

Probably explained by a quote from the film Capricorn One...

Robert Caulfield: I'd like to hire your plane.

Albain: That'll be a hundred dollars.

[...]

Robert Caulfield: Okay, one hundred.

Albain: One hundred and twenty five.

Robert Caulfield: What?

Albain: Because you said yes to a hundred too quick, which means you can afford a hundred and twenty five.

If a Wooster & Stock description is winding you up, I think you have issues. It's what they do, like them or loathe them they certainly stand out from the crowd - as evidenced by this thread.

The photographs make the house look great, it might not be your style but I've got more then hunch that most of the people throwing rocks in this thread are doing so from a (badly designed) glass house.

*Shrugs*

If I had that sorta coin, I'd book a viewing - at least it's different from the endless stream of Victorian conversions that are churned out.

What I should have written was "which I regrettably had to turn down"

The buyer/seller chain stagnated essentially.

I was well pleased with the offer, but didn't want to sell and be left in a vacuum renting.

Eh, I was only teasing Loz - of course you're entitled to your opinion. I just find it amusing that people have their panties in a twist because someone described a door as 'fab'.

But it's sunny outside so I'm going to stop arguing about stuff on the internet :)

No one has their 'panties in a twist' stevie - we like it when young people use words like fab -

- just taking the piss because the description is fucking ridiculous for what looks like a 1980s Barrat home with rocks in the front garden... some find that funny .. some may even find the defence of it funny too... like a laugh, see when they get bored? (I have a tragically short attention span and can be distracted by

well said...and no it's not my house, or my taste - but I even quite enjoyed the W&S description. They're a bit like Roy Brooks' descriptions - overtly verbose, but isn't that the point of selling, providing one can read words?... Someone will love it and good luck to them I say.

    • Excuse me? Are you the forum police or just a nosy parker? For your information me and my kids were almost hit by a crazy black boy heading that way on a bike that day so I wondered if it was the same youth. It was upsetting, we could have been seriously hurt. In future wind in your neck before judging people. As I said when you stuck your nose in with unfounded implication and suspicion before, mixed race woman posting here and I bet Β£100 you are a bourgeois native Brit who obsessively sees race in everything at the expence of practicality (being able to identify potential criminals by describing their physical appearance). If your socialist utopia isn't going to plan don't blame the messenger.
