Slightly strange question, but has anyone had an upset stomach recently with the following symptoms?

Constantly rumbling, upset stomach

Feeling nauseous but no vomiting

Soft, ahem, stool

Still have an appetite (though limited)

Otherwise OK

I've had the above for a couple of weeks now and have had enough.

Thanks,

Chillaxed

It could be subclinical infection with rotavirus. Rotavirus is generally thought of as a short illness in children, leading to diarrhoea and sometimes vomiting. However, in some cases rotavirus hangs around much longer causing "post-gastroenteritis syndrome". If that's the case, there's not much you can do. I second the BRAT diet, and also decrease your dairy intake. Post-gastroenteritis syndrome can sometimes cause temporary dairy intolerance. Eat plain starches like rice or oats, and avoid too much meat. If you're not better soon, check with your GP. xx

Thanks for your posts and PM's.

I've seen the docs so if they discover anything unusual, I'll post again.

Just to note, I'm a bloke (so not pregnant or breastfeeding!). My wife has the same symptoms, however, and she is neither as well (though we've a 14 month old boy so Saffron's advice bears consideration). I guess people assume that posters in the Family Room are mums?

Thanks again!

I don't think it's so much that people assume posters in the FR are mothers, as it is that the people who read the original post and thought of pregnancy (or mastitis) are women.

From a lady's perspective, you have to admit that pregnancy does spring to mind when you read those symptoms!

    • If you've got to raise taxes, then those inheriting multi-million pound estates, landlords, second property owners, the privately educated, and wealthier pensioners (considering how they have been disproportionately insulated for many years), doesn't' seem like the most unreasonable places to do so. We can't just keep loading more and more pain on young, working renters because it's less noisy. The fact that the media are absolutely up in arms, suggests there has actually been some political bravery, and that power, wealth and influence isn't acting as an absolute inoculant to tax rises for once.

    • Hi all,    We are looking for a pregnant person for 1 hours modelling for a campaign shoot that is happening this Saturday (23rd November) in Peckham. We are looking for real people, so no previous modelling experience required.  The shoot is for a new body care brand, and so the model will be required to wear a bodysuit and apply product (all product is clinically proven to be pregnancy safe).  Payment would be made in a goody bag from the brand.  If this is you (or you know anyone who would be good for this), please reach out!
