Earl Aelfheah
There are plenty of properties in the UK to supply homes for all of the population. The problem is one of an unbalanced economy, with unequal distribution of wealth, opportunities and demand and also rampant speculation and profiteering. fazer71
The problem is government housing as it subsidises the rental market and creates a false rental market.Rather than restrict social housing to those in need social housing goes to those who really don't need government help the likes of Bob Crow when he was alive. Many black cab drivers builders etc etc on ?100k a year living in council housing. It's not means tested because that would unreasonable so we tax payers fund the rental market. fazer71
That 84-90 vertical sign is disgusting! The rest is acceptable for the progressiveLuddites' would rather have mud huts hey ho that's progressAgreed on m&s food it's for lazy people with more money than taste and a lack of food knowledge that's 80% of the local population catered for then Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/23403-revised-new-ms-planning-application-to-replace-iceland/page/87/#findComment-952882 Share on other sites
Otta
See fazer, when it's not aircraft noise you and I can agree. The 84 - 90 sign IS disgusting! Also agree about M&S Grub, although if you've no time to cook and need something to chuck in the oven, they'll do. Jeremy
Yeah... seriously that sign is crappy.Ready meals... it's all about how much/little time you have, and how you choose to spend it. When it's already 8pm by the time the kid's asleep, and you need to get up at 6am the next morning... a limp ready meal and a beer in front of the TV will do me just fine. Nigello
I got the impression that the M and S that is coming to LL will not be just one of those rail station types, but one where you can actually buy real ingredients. I can't remember the exact corporate nomenclature but I'm sure there are variants of M and S outlets. Callie
I like the shop front except for the huge numbers - I'm hoping they won't really happen because they spoil the look. fazer71
Maybe the expect a lot of customers to arrive by helicopter or light aircraft even then the size is over kill they're probably looking to catch the eye of Timothy Peake. The really clever thing about those numbers is that standing outside on the pavement they're so big that no one not even the postman would be able to see them, maybe visible on the opposite side of the road? robbin
Those pictures show an obvious massive improvement over the crappy/ugly old building that was there before. It was a real dump.I'll probably only shop there once or twice a week, but I'm still delighted there's also a half decent convenience store opening there too. nxjen
I may have got a bit confused after 73 pages but I was under the impression M&S are not the developers.
