Hi all,

I'm contemplating buying a sheepskin liner, to use in both my Phil&Ted's and the Bugaboo Bee. They're expensive and I don't want to make a wrong choice. Just wondering if anyone uses a sheepskin with the bugaboo bee, and can tell me if it is still easy to fold down, or if you have to take the liner off every time you fold the buggy down. Help would be welcomed!

Any tips on sheepskins and phil & ted's, or sheepskins generally, would be great. Any one really happy with theirs, and not had to take a mortgage out to buy it? Are they really cool in summer, as claimed? Do they just get mangy and covered in baby sick?

Thank you :-).

Sarah

I've always used sheepskins (being from NZ it's inbuilt!). Currently have one in my 3 month olds Moses basket which I will use in my Bee once she is out of the cocoon. I am pretty confident it will fold no problem with it on, as I currently fold mine with the cocoon on which is far bulkier.

I've had Bowron stroller fleeces for each of my 3 children and used them year round. They are washable so if they start looking grubby it's easily fixed. I think they are around ?40, generally good deals to be found on Amazon or EBay.

We have the John Lewis sheepskin rug which I used in the moses basket for the first few months then made a few holes in it and used it as a buggy liner after that. We have a Maclaren quest and it is still possible to fold it so I would have thought you'd be ok with the Bee. As already said, easy to wash in the machine.
Have the green baby one - it's for the buggy but in the early days with my second I used it in other places including bouncy chair and also the Phil & Teds cocoon to make it cosy. No need to buy two. It was a gift but think it was ?38-40. Whatever you do be careful how you wash it - I had a shaped one from JoJo for my first, washed it at 40 and it shrunk, looks like a teddy bear now! Green & Baby do a sheepskin shampoo but I guess main thing is to do on a delicates or cold wash.
We got ours from Baa baby. Have used it inside the footmuff in the bee plus without problems folding it and it looks so cosy. It's actually much easier to keep the seat clean now than it was without the liner. Also it doesn't seem to get grubby or dirty at all, we've had it almost a year and haven't had to wash it yet. We got it when our baby was already a year old though, so not being sick in the pram but lots and lots of snacks constantly being dropped on it.
I seem to have quite a few!! I do like them - I think they work well in summer in place of a cosy toes for comfort and ensure baby doesn't get too sweaty. I've never had a problem folding up a buggy with one in (more probs with cosytoes). I have one from mothercare that seems to fit most buggies pretty neatly and has ties at the top to help keep it in place. The phil and teds one is fine but not as thick as some of the others (but not too expensive). I too used them in the p&t cocoon/bottom area.
Like sandy rose we use both the foot muff and a sheepskin on the bee no probs, it doesn't fold down quite as small but still folds easily enough. My only thought is that with so much padding sometimes it can feel as if my daughter doesnt have a good seat at a decent right angle, obviously her bottom never quite sits against the back of the chair so she can one times look a bit like the straps are hoisting her up like a sack of spuds. But I think it's more because I need to adjust the seat and pull it out a bit more!

I've got two which I've used in the P&T's Vibe, one is a Jo Jo one, the other Blooming Marvellous. Both wash well and still look brand new.

I only use one now as rarely use my Vibe (eldest 2 and 3 months), in hindsite didn't need two.

Vibe folds with them in no problem.

I got one at the Baby Show for my 2nd daughter and loved it. It was shaped the same as the mattress in the Bugaboo carrycot so used it in that first, then in the buggy seat. It was so lovely and snug.

I liked buying it that was as there was loads of choice, and actually some of the fleeces were much softer than others so I do think it was preferable to mail ordering. The colour shades vary too and they had dyed ones as well, though I went with natural in the end. It also allowed me to try out the different makes & shapes, like the ones with 'legs' cut in them vs the natural shaped or oval "ish" type one I ended up getting. Mine was ?40 & was a gift from my sister.

Happy shopping!
