B&G
Just walked home from ED station down Melbourne Grove and East Dulwih Grove is crawling with police. Four cars and a van from what we could see, plus two helicopters circling above. Had a look on BBC news but nothing there. Anyone know what's going on..? tomsav
To be fair trespassers on the line often end up either making a mess under a coach, or nicking a load of cabling, both of which are worth avoiding if poss. EMR
I was on one of the trains delayed by said track invasion. We got moving again within 10-12 mins so a job well done I reckon! Spooner
the hovering over your house certainly doesn't make for a good night's sleep. was it seriously someone on the tracks or is that a joke that's lost on me?! wadeylady001
It was due to a vehicle ramming a police car and the police then being assaulted and the suspect then being on the run. If you follow the police helicopter twitter account @mpsinthesky they do post about most of their late night missions. uncleglen
45 minutes it was going around for. I get concerned when they are near because when I was young a crim on the run opened our back gate , ran through the garden and over the back wall pursued by the police. It was exciting at the time because we were all indoors but when you think what could happen given the deperation of junkies..... especially since that awful business in Peckham when a man was tied up and tortured Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/23351-police-helicopters-tonight/#findComment-542680 Share on other sites

wadeylady001
Is the police chopper really such a rarity in Midsomer Dulwich? You should try living here in CSI Catford. uncleglen
JohnL you are thinking of the French students and the Sonnex person. The other incident earlier than that and involved an older man in Peckham Hill street if i recall correctly Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/23351-police-helicopters-tonight/#findComment-542800 Share on other sites

Piecing everything together, a car rammed a police car, the driver assaulted officers and ran away. He appears to have attepted to either hide on the railway, or cross the tracks, or run along the embankment or something, causing trains to be halted while the helicopter searched for him. He was arrested. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/23351-police-helicopters-tonight/#findComment-542884 Share on other sites
