Looking for a recommendation for a wake

Good morning,

I'm looking for a venue for next Wednesday 14 August at 1430 for a wake. We would like to bring our own catering, probably a bbq and it would be nice to have the option of both inside and outside seating. It will be for around 60 people. The funeral is in West Norwood. Does anyone have a recommendation?

Thanks in advance,

Steph

I would recommend the Temple Bowling Club, Sunset Road, just off Denmark Hill. It has a good size hall with doors opening out onto a lovely verandah area where there is also tables and chairs. You can bring your own food and have a bbq. There is also a kitchen and fully licensed bar.

    • The water companies don't do their job. The council (i.e. us) pay to remedy their underinvestment in drainage and sewerage infrastructure and we give up our open spaces for the purpose of mitigating the impact. Privatised profits, socialised costs.
    • Thanks to everyone who recommended Paul. He came to my rescure when my first floor shower / wet room started leaking. The leak was coming from between the tiled floor and the top of the drain. Paul first asked me to send him photos, then talked the problem through with me and, although he was willing to come out and fix the leak, he suggested I save the money by fixing it myself and told me what to do. It worked brilliantly. Paul was amazingly kind and is now number one on my contacts list should I ever have other tiling problems.
