Whilst I'm sure that everyone knows The Bear on the corner of Camberwell Station Road and Camberwell New Road serves arguably the best pub food in the area and sits on the route of the 185 bus I am not sure if they know that they do a 10% discount for NUS.

Very generous discount- we just need to find a student to take along with us next time.

Are there any other good offers for students locally? If you know of any then why not list them here...

Thanks for giving my recommendation some credibility Mark. Perhaps you could say something nice about Caravaggio too. Is that pushing it?

Anyway I forgot to mention that the Funky Munky gives student discount on everything too. Consequently busy with beautiful young art students and their skinny art student boyfriends..

There must be a significant student population in East Dulwich and the surrounding area and I'm sure there are plenty of offers. It's defintiely a legitimate thread.

Edit nb re Caravagio:-

    • As posted elsewhere Jojm is a superb plasterer, highly experienced and very good. And will either just get on with the job or, if you wish, have a good chat with you - he's a Dubliner so very friendly! I have either used him directly (once, for a biggish job, a couple of rooms, insulated plaster boards and finishing) and twice for neighbouring landlord where I arranged and saw his work completed expertly and efficiently. Recommended. He loves dogs too. If relevant...

    • How about we go straight to the source then if you think it's questionable: Here's Unite Group's annual report: https://www.unitegroup.com/annual-report-and-accounts-2024 Download the PDF and you'll find the 97.5% occupancy rate. You know a lot of these news sources exist because digging through annual reports is laborious and not immediately accessible to the masses. They're reporting on what Unite Group, a public company, is reporting. It's making something more digestible. They're not just making up numbers. They'd end up without much business if they were. PBSA is a big industry. Here's another take (though a year older) from Cushman and Wakefield: https://www.cushmanwakefield.com/en/united-kingdom/insights/uk-student-accommodation-report  Like CBRE, they're also reporting supply shortages. Again, to be occupied by students.
