Nanny tax companies

Hey everyone,

I am just about to register with a company so I can sort out tax and NI etc for my nanny but am worried about making a payment to a company online incase it isn't legit.

I know the company Nanny Tax are legit but what about Nanny Wage Ltd? (yearly registration is half that of Nanny Tax - is there a reason why???).

Just don't want to thow money away.....

i don't know that company but I pay something like ?125/year to PAYE for Nannies. I think there are just a couple of really overpriced services out there and others are competing (rightly) on price. What they do is really pretty basic though IMO it's money well spent not to do it myself.

I use Zest Payroll after reading a recommendation on here. Brilliant service, super efficient and it is 15 pound a month, which offers more flexibility than a yearly fee. www.zestpayroll.co.uk

nannypaye.co.uk are good and they will price match s I pay about ?50 less than their annual published fee...

We use Taxing Nannies who were considerably cheaper than Nannytax and seemed much more knowledgable on nanny share set ups.

I use the PAYE Basic software from HMRC. Takes me about 5 mins a month and cost nothing. HMRC helpline are also great if you have problems and only cost as much as the phone call.

So how do you do this? Do you have to register with HMRC first? Do you simply enter the nanny's details and pay the tax and NI online?.....please can I have more info

I called HMRC today. Seems far less hassle to do it direct with them than going through a nanny tax company!!
