Hello

Bit of a long shot but can anyone recommend a local relationship counsellor please? My husband and I are having a sticky patch and I'm not sure either of us can dig ourselves out of it without impartial advice. I'd much rather go to someone who had been directly recommended than enter the unknown world of Relate or BACP.

Ideally, I'd like a counsellor who knows about depression too.

Many thanks

F

Another vote for Roz. She's frankly performed miracles with me and my partner. I went to her on the basis of a recommendation here and would heartily recommend her as a couples counsellor to anyone else experiencing relationship problems. If she can help us, she can probably help anyone.

Thanks so much everyone for your recommendations for relationship therapy. I do love working with couples but Im also passionate about 1:1 therapy and Executive Coaching. I also noticed that my old website is mentioned. To see my new website go to www.rozpendlebury.com.

Incidentally, I see there's a couples counsellor doing research on strategies for dealing with the "feeling that a relationship has ?lost its spark?, who's looking for participants in the study: see http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,1851911.
As well as the recommendations you've had, have a listen to Esther Perel (YouTube, podcasts)- whether you're struggling or not she has a brilliant way of talking about relationships, communication and all the other things that go into making it work.

    • I’ve viisited the lordship lane post office  a couple of times over the past few years and found them so grumpy and unhelpful. One nearly falling asleep whilst people in the queue waiting! Very poor customer service.

    • Nope.  I worked on a task force twenty years ago, when the UK was considered to have one of the worst records in Europe driven in part by the theft of high end vehicles which ended up in the Gulf where they also drive on left  Keyless cars have if anything made things worse. Get a car that is undesirable.  It's for the manufacturers to sort out, dunno why not. Two reports, manufacturers saying things have got much better, albeit ten years ago and the Guardian pointing a finger at the trade  https://www.smmt.co.uk/2015/04/stolen-vehicles-down-70-in-a-decade-as-smmt-calls-for-more-detailed-theft-tracking/ https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/feb/24/revealed-car-industry-was-warned-keyless-vehicles-vulnerable-to-theft-a-decade-ago
