SeanMacGabhann
sounds pretty common from what I've read on here KK - I've only ordered once and was lucky with the time, but the food just wasn't worth the extra expense anyway... KidKruger
No wanting to divert the thread at all, but I have to say I have had few issues with Surma curry house in 17 years I've used it.Served by mature polite and friendly people who understand their business well. EDOldie
Well, got another curry from BBC last night and it was very poor. Would have joined the Curry Club but couldn't last night. But BBC was very quiet indeed. Looked like they had very few orders and only three or four staff in. Have they burnt out already? macroban
I doubt whether CH G2 Limited is immune to the sharp down turn in restaurant covers since 2008-01-01. meccadave
Not wishing to sound like a git, but I think you must mean 01/01/2008 macroban? By my understanding, there are not 2008 days in January and it is not 2001./pedantic. Indiana
Tried BBC in November - 2 hours late, bland, sloppy and expensive.Back to our old favourite (of 7 years!). One word : MIRASH. bignumber5
i've had nothing but good experiences with BBC, although it's not overpowering stuff: allows a bit of experimentation with menu choices for anyone who is normal cautious of avoiding mouth burning. macroban
So, the Bombay Bicycle Club may be up for sale. I don't think they'll get the asking price of ?10m. Oily Telly Tyke
Tried twice. Very overpriced for not particularly high quality. Late both times. The fact they have an 0845 number to sting you for a few more pence when ordering sums it up IMHO.O Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/2301-bombay-bicycle-club/page/2/#findComment-117472 Share on other sites
macroban
?4-and-a-bit-million is not quite ?10m, but perhaps they squeaked a small profit. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/2301-bombay-bicycle-club/page/2/#findComment-118469 Share on other sites
neilson99
I'm adding my voice to the "must try harder" crowd. Having loved the curry at Wandsworth restuarant and the South Wimbledon takeaway BBC's I was really pleased when they opened on LL. Two hungry hours after ordering, I was less than impressed with the quality of what was eventually delivered. To be fair to BBC, they rang plenty of times and told me the delivery guy was lost, and eventually sent another fella with a new meal (apparently). They held their hands up and gave it me for free as well, which was a nice touch. On this basis I went for another try a few weeks back, but was really disappointed with the meal, bland is the word and I have binned my pink menu. Any pointers to the best takeaway curry in ED/PR/FH greatly appreciated. elizlondon
> Any pointers to the best takeaway curry in> ED/PR/FH greatly appreciated.I've always really enjoyed the Gurka's Tiffin in Forest Hill that does delivery - I've found it better than anything I've had on LL. They've recently been renamed the Royal Tiffin as I think they're under new management and I've only had food from them once since then and I'm not sure that it was *quite* as good, and the price has increased slightly, but it was early days, so will definitely be ordering again. The sag aloo is particularly good as they use fresh spinach, rather than the usual frozen stuff. Ingenuity
NeilsonGive Omrith a try. On time, a fantastic menu and lots of different things as well as the usual favourites. Good breads, rice and accompaniments and good price.I posted about this place a month or so back and my views seemed to be echoed so search on Omrith in here and hope you enjoy! lozzyloz
There's plenty of variety in an around ED for different tastes and budgets. I'd try all of them until you find one that suits you. One mans BBC is another's Curry Cabin.PS I think Omrith are pretty good too.
