Anybody hear about the nurse from Dulwich who, despite being off-duty, jumped to the rescue while passing the Royal Marsden Hospital during the tragic blaze last week.


She met Prince William today / yesterday...


What sort of medals are handed out to these people on top of the right Royal handshake?


Would love to hear more...

I saw a girl I know on TV shaking Prince William's hand on an item about the Royal Marsden fire - she's a nurse and lives in East Dulwich so I'm assuming it's the same person. Her name is Bethan (not sure it's appropriate to post her surname on the forum!), she's quite a young nurse, used to attend a class I ran in the area.

      Eats Dulwich has just reviewed Arapina, including its hot chocolate!  I assume they read the original first and  very long post on this thread before almost all of it was removed. Interesting to have another opinion!

      HA! If only . . . The other night I took the 37 from Herne Hill to Goose Green, only it was diverted via Denmark Hill. That would have been ok, except when the driver reached the junction for Denmark Hill she wasn't allowed to turn right as there were road works on Dog Kennel Hill starting at 8pm and all buses were being diverted via Camberwell Church St and Rye Lane.  I got off there at Kings College Hospital, as I figured it was closer to home than Peckham . . .  Still good for my step count I suppose.
