What is Windows 3.1 ? Was that Clockwork ?

I'm Running Windows 10 like most people bur do not know what Ver. 1903 is ?

and there's not much info about it

Fox.

"do not know what Ver. 1903 is ?

genuine question Foxy but have you googled it?

i googled "windows 10 update 1903" and have more info than I'll ever need

looks like it's one of the bigger updates that adds features rather than just bug fixes

Sounds like a real Pain

Unlike in previous versions of Windows, you?ll need to use the media creation tool to create an ISO file to install Windows 10. Make sure you have a license to install Windows 10.

Also it is necessary to disable / uninstall any antivirus otherwise Errors will be encountered and

the install will crash.

A full Back is also required..

I think I will stick with what I have got.

Foxy

You probably have "Dynamic Lock" turned on (or it was arbitrarily turned on by your recent update.)

To turn it off, go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.

Scroll down and uncheck the box that says "Allow Windows to automatically lock your device when you're away".

Since that last update, every time I turn on my laptop I get this sign-in thing to OneDrive, which is a bit annoying.

I can get rid of it each time, but I'd rather it didn't come up at all.

Where in Settings (I assume) can I stop it appearing? I don't want to use OneDrive, I have everything saved in Carbonite.

I can understand not wanting to use Onedrive (though it works pretty well) but what happens if/when the serverfarm Carbonite use has a fire/flood/goes out of business? Always best to use two cloud services and a remote box at a relative/trusted friends place (though if you encrypt everything, no need for them to even be a trusted friend...).

Hi rich

Yes 'Dynamic Lock' was turned ON

Strange because the message I was getting was...

Dynamic lock not working. With a Button to Switch it ON

Now switched OFF

Thanks for the Tip..

Foxy

You're welcome Foxy :)

I'd be tempted to just sign-in to OneDrive and then ignore it. At least it'll then be available should you wish to use it in the future.

But if you really want to be rid of it, click the little "Cloud" OneDrive icon in the system tray, then click "More" and then "Settings" from the pop-up menu. In the "Account" tab click "Unlink this PC" and then "Unlink account".

    • I was in Forest Hill Road today, just past the Rye, and noticed there is a dentist next to the Herne (pub) that has NHS signs outside. I've never had any problems getting NHS dental treatment in East Dulwich, and I get regular check ups. I've been to three  different dental practices here over the years, all with NHS treatment. I think the difficulties are in other parts of the country. Malumbu has a good explanation above. I didn't hear the Radio 4 programme, but I'm guessing that a  radio programme is not going to have time to say where you CAN easily get NHS treatment, and is bound to focus on the negatives and the horror stories, otherwise it would be very boring! ETA: Re children's teeth, I think the major issue is not lack of dentists, it is children being given sugary food, drinks and confectionery which rots their teeth. The education of parents needs to be about this, not just about tooth brushing. And in some cases the poor diet may also be due to lack of money for healthy food. Though of course the lack of dentists doesn't help, if  the tooth rotting can't be rectified by fillings or extraction.
    • Well, I hope you like what you see, the hot air, lack of answers and continual blaming things on the last Government and the made up blackhole, I find are nauseating. The man needs to see reality, because I'd guess that if we had a snap election tomorrow and based on the first six months of this parliament, Labour would get trounced. When the election does finally happen and if that isn't before the people rise up and throw this lot out, Labour will not be voted back in for a millennium.
    • Yes thanks that's exactly the choices I get.  I will block and if somehow they find a way back I'll report.
