I hated that TV show about photographers which is a sort of reality TV Click Factor type show to find photographers and eliminate people and humiliate people.

I just wanted to see the photographs! All the nonsense spouted by the judges was dreadful.

I agree the format is pretty naff but if you look beyond it I think it's interesting. I only caught the last half so I'll reserve full judgement till next week. I've noticed an increase in photo related TV programming lately (documentarys, historical, biographical) so maybe it's just part of that trend. It'll be PhotoFactor and Come Clicking next!

Martin Parr (one of the judges) was another reason why I got into photography, I accidentally stumbled upon an exhibition of his at the Reina Sofia modern art museum in Madrid and was blown away by what photography could portray and make you feel.

He may not be to everyone's taste but he thinks a lot about what he does and how he does it, so you can't dismiss him out of hand.

The programme format, and I don't doubt, the editing lend itself to an unsatisfactory experience however. Personally I'd have been happier with a South Bank Show on Mr Parr, but that's just me.

and that's coming from the chap who was another "bigger boat" *sniggers* Just love the way the fella in the Kayak has clocked the shark over his shoulder.

Sharks scare the cr@p out of me, yet I find them fascinating and would love to see one like that. (Although, I'd prefer not to be on a kayak).
