Help! All my html files have turned into Opera web documents!

Recommended Posts

I was updating the Goose website tonight but when I checked the site, none of the pages would refresh.

On investigating, I found that all my html files have turned into Opera web documents - which I've never heard of before.

I think what happened is that some message came up asking me to allow Opera, and I assumed it was something to do with the Opera browser, which I sometimes use.

Can anybody help? How can I turn them back into html again?

I use Coffee Cup html editor.

ETA: The pages seem to be refreshing now, but I'm still totally bemused.

ETA: I've had an answer from the Coffee Cup helpline which sort of helps, but I still don't understand what has happened ......

No idea, Jeremy. I certainly must have done something.

The Coffee Cup people have told me how to change the file associations, but as the pages are refreshing OK now there isn't any immediate hurry.

But thanks!

ETA: I suppose it would be too much to hope for that if I uninstalled Opera it would automatically change the file associations???

Evidently It's a bug.

If you are using

When a request for the main FRAMESET file gets a 304 Not Modified response,

Opera will not re-load the frames inside.

If it happens again

Try right-click, " Reload " instead.

or make Explorer or Firefox your Default Browser.

    • Aria came around for another job yesterday  - he’s super responsive, knowledgeable and fair - he communicates well and genuinely just wants to help - will be using him for all our plumbing issues.

    • I've lived on Overhill Road for years and have never had any issue. Many of the flats in Dawson's Heights are privately owned and it has a lovely community feel. We walk through the estate and onto the nature reserve behind it every day - best views of London and a great place to sit and take stock. Also the views from some of the houses on Overhill Road are amazing.
    • Another positive review for Niko! He recently installed a number of appliances for me, including changing some plumbing to remove a loo and install a washing machine - I couldn't be happier with the job. He was friendly and positive from the moment he arrived, reassuring with my concerns and nothing was too much trouble. He evidently takes pride in his work, ensuring everything was done as if it was his own home. He's also astute and fixes other little jobs he notices, such a bonus for someone like me who is not handy at all.  He has a great sense of humor which makes the whole process so enjoyable. I would highly recommend Niko to anyone looking for a reliable, skilled, and personable plumber!  07818 607583
