Peckhampam
HiI have been using this firm to do my windows, small firm, friendly and efficient. No hesitation in recommending them. I will be getting my last room done soon as makes an appreciable difference to warmth and noise.www.londonsecondaryglazing.co.uk Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/22800-secondary-glazing-recommendations/#findComment-535329 Share on other sites

Lu2011
We booked London Secondary Glazing for a quote - but they didn't show up and no response to messages chasing up. So would not recommend them I'm afraid! astrid83
I know this is an old thread but I wanted to bring up the subject again...We are expecting our first child and are having to re-arrange our flat to make more use of the space. Our kitchen is big enough to be made in to a open plan kitchen/living room combo, and the room that is now our living room will probably become our bedroom. The only problem with that room though is how noisy it is due to big double deckers passing by outside and no double glazing. Will secondary glazing make a difference regarding the noise? JRS
I live on a main road too and inherited secondary glazing on all the front facing windows. One day when the lottery win comes in I will have it all replaced with double glazed sashes, because it isn't very pretty, but it is very effective against all traffic noise (save sirens). astrid83
Ok that's good to know. We are renting our flat, if we owned it we would definitely put in proper double glazing but that's not the case so gotta do what we can! keane
The other thing to think about though is that if u put double glazing into existing window frames in an old house and the frames don't fit perfectly as many of them don't - then the double glazing itself doesn't make a difference as we have recently discovered - now looking at secondary glazing cos of noise..
