Pick N Mix Comedy Night in Nunhead on 12th June

Recommended Posts

Game of Thrones is over. Everyone knows how Avengers ends. Summer is still taunting us on a weekly basis. What we need right now is fun - to release our inner madness.

Pick N Mix is a new comedy night in Nunhead, at The Old Nun's Head (what are the odds!). Each night we pick a completely different theme to mix up the fun.

This month's theme, we're giving you some masters of mayhem in the comedy world. The people that do comedy a little differently. Music - oh yeah! Games - hot diggity darn. General craziness - that's the idea.

Come join us for the madness: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/pick-n-mix-comedy-presents-masters-of-mayhem-tickets-62485250065

Did I mention there's also great food and beer? Well, there is.

Some information about the line-up of chaotic comedy that is on store for next week! We have 7 acts to celebrate the 7 Wonders of the Weird:

Ben Kavanagh: The Magician of the Mobile Keyboard

Maxine Vuvuzela: The Redeemer of all Basic B!tches

Rob Copland: The Great Prancer of Silliness

Luke Chilton: The Ruler of 90s Gameshows

Basil Jamm: Master of the Shiny Elements

Performing Animals: The Nymphs of Nonsense

Katie Pritchard: The Goddess of Chaos, Musical Comedy & Hand-made Costumes

Tomorrow it's on, when Pick n Mix Comedy comes into town to knock your socks off* at the Old Nun's Head.

You'd be crazy to miss it (although afterwards you will be sockless, which makes you look a little crazy, so it's a double-edged sword in many ways)

*This reference includes all other alternative forms of footwear.

We make damn good pink posters too.

    • They said you didn’t have a meter even though you did? Utterly bizarre.   I also thought that the water company wasn’t allowed to fit a meter unless you asked for one.
    • I know this isn’t the same but I’m using it to illustrate how some people can laugh at very inappropriate things they should not be laughing at.  I was once knocked down by an out of control Rottweiler who barrelled into me from the back when I was walking in a park with my dog. I landed on my back and his owners laughed at me instead of coming to see if I was ok. This dog later went on to bite the hand of the owner of a tiny dog who picked him up to keep him away from the Rottweiler. The owner of the small dog never appeared in the park again as they were worried about being bitten (or the dog) again.  We (me and other dog walkers but not the owner who was bitten - we encouraged her to report it but she was too petrified) ended up reporting the owner to the police by following him to see where he lived.  This parent sounds like a dickhead.
    • I use the phone shop up by the cemetery on Forest Hill Road. Excellent service.  An alternative is a charging mat which doesn’t use the port.
    • What about the place on the corner of Melbourne Grove right near the station.  There are also a few places on Rye Lane that I’ve heard are good but I’ve don’t know which ones they are.  Maybe someone else would.
