I know there are hundreds down there but was hoping someone could recommend a toddler friendly holiday cottage in the Padstow/Trevose area of North Cornwall...

We are planning on going in Sept so was hoping to find somewhere not too far from beaches but perhaps with shared facilities - i.e an indoor pool, playground and one of those farm cottage places where our little one can feed animals.

Thanks!

Indianna,

If you are still seeking accommodation for your family holiday. At www.corncott.com, we have a number of cottages throughout Cornwall and many within the Padstow area that are very family friendly. You may also like to look at our properties within the Hustyns Resort that has its own indoor swimming pool, crazy golf & outdoor play area plus only a 10 minute drive from the sandy beaches along the North coast.

Alternatively why not head a little further down south? At Summercourt near Newquay we have Bumblebee cottage at Carvynick Country Club, also a child friendly resort with a swimming pool, and very close to the coastal town of Newquay were you can find many shops, beaches & The Newquay Zoo & aquarium, where you can enjoy pet feeding too -. Both around a 15 minute drive.

I hope this is helpful!

I'd highly recommend Coombe Mill Farm we've just come back from our second holiday there and our 21/2 yr old daughter loved it. Variety of self catering properties, loads of friendly animals, daily tractor rides, outdoor play areas and indoor soft play and pretty close to Padstow. There isn't a pool on site but you can use one at another holiday village just up the lane - although we never have, always had lovely weather so just stayed on the farm.

I'm in the process of writing a blog post about it, if you're interested let me know and I'll send you the link when it's up.

Thanks for all the recommendations - really very helpful.

I think we are veering towards the Park at Mawgan Porth as the lodges look lovely, the pool is on site and also it's a 5 minute walk to the beach. None of these places came up on my searches though and all look great so thanks fot the help.

    • As posted elsewhere Jojm is a superb plasterer, highly experienced and very good. And will either just get on with the job or, if you wish, have a good chat with you - he's a Dubliner so very friendly! I have either used him directly (once, for a biggish job, a couple of rooms, insulated plaster boards and finishing) and twice for neighbouring landlord where I arranged and saw his work completed expertly and efficiently. Recommended. He loves dogs too. If relevant...

    • How about we go straight to the source then if you think it's questionable: Here's Unite Group's annual report: https://www.unitegroup.com/annual-report-and-accounts-2024 Download the PDF and you'll find the 97.5% occupancy rate. You know a lot of these news sources exist because digging through annual reports is laborious and not immediately accessible to the masses. They're reporting on what Unite Group, a public company, is reporting. It's making something more digestible. They're not just making up numbers. They'd end up without much business if they were. PBSA is a big industry. Here's another take (though a year older) from Cushman and Wakefield: https://www.cushmanwakefield.com/en/united-kingdom/insights/uk-student-accommodation-report  Like CBRE, they're also reporting supply shortages. Again, to be occupied by students.
