Self storage outside of London - recommendation?

I'm assuming self storage in London is prohibitively expensive and outside is cheaper. But I don't want to drive for hours. Can anyone recommend a good compromise and give any recommendations plus rough costs? Will need it for 1-2 years. Thanks
