most people who're holding street parties are not thinking about their loyalty to the Queen et al.

It's not often you can collectively close your street down and party.

I'm considering it myself and am indifferent to those over-privileged bastards.

Actually, KK, your street has been collectively closed down for the last two years for a street party on the occasion of the Big Lunch.

You would have got two separate flyers telling you about it last year, possibly even delivered by me :))

The only reason it isn't (unless you do it!) being closed down this year at that time is because of the reasons CivilServant gave above :)

Personally, I'm going into hiding on Jubilee Day, unless I can find an anti-Jubilee party somewhere (or even hold one myself :)) )

Yeah I know about that CP Road ones, what I mean is if there was a time when your application for closing down the street would be most favourably considered, it's for a Jubilee.

Let me know the date for the CP street party when you get it..

    • There wasn’t a lot to it.  Pick a pub that’s likely to have space on the evening - ask the pub can we reserve the tables. Post date and time in here  it did grow to some quite big evenings.  But those early meet-ups were only 5 or 6 people. It grew from there  if it’s a date I can be in London I might try and get along
    • It's a tough one but I do think if the council provide the bins we should use them. We all should be doing our bit.
    • Great! I can't say there has been a vast number of interested people so far. Maybe it's a case of "if we build it they will come", as it were. We will get on the case and try to find a suitable pub  venue, and then a date. But I have a feeling the pub will want to be sure there will be a reasonable number of people there buying drinks, if we are booking a room, and at present I don't think we can give them that guarantee. Does anybody know how the people who organised it (I think Georgia was one?) did it before? Please PM me if you would rather not post it on here, thanks.
    • Thank you, I’ll take a look
