I would like to recommend John from JKA Damp Proofing and Sika tanking (07713 187226) as he has just finished a long job in the basement of my Victorian house on Crystal Palace Road

I had a very bad case of water getting into the vault under my front stairs, as well as a damp problem in a number of spots at the back of the house

He removed plasterwork back to the brick and removed the front steps, which threw up some small structural problems which John dealt with quickly and professionally. Tanking the vault area and replacing the front steps once the sika concrete was in place

His concrete and plaster work is excellent and done with real enthusiasm. Although it's impossible to avoid mess when removing old plaster, John works with care and keeps disruption to a minimum, with plenty of dust sheeting and floor protection. Once the job was done, there was a full clean up

As with any building work, final pricing often goes beyond original cost estimates, but John made sure we discussed and agreed any additional work that needed doing and kept me informed on costs all along the way

Overall, a really good job done to a very high standard. Thoroughly recommended if you can find a spot in his busy diary!

John Relph did the Sika Tanking damp proofing for our downstairs bathroom. He is a Triton approved contractor. All the damp proofing work was guaranteed by TUG Guarantee Services Limited for 10 years. John was straight forward and business like in all his dealings with us. I have every confidence in the quality of the work. His contact details are mobile 07713 187 226, landline 0208 859 1501.

I can also recommend John Relph of JKA Damp Proofing. He has just damp proofed two walls on my ground floor. He is in such demand that he could only carry out the work over a weekend, and worked very hard over two long days. He had to tie in the new plaster to existing plaster which was done seamlessly. He also supplied a 10year guarentee for the work. He was very pleasant and efficient to deal with.

I would like to recommend Jon Relph (JKA Damp Proofing & Plastering Limited) to anyone who needs a damp course/ full waterproof tanking on their property. We had extensive water damage and damp due to a poor job done by the previous owner. Jon did a full inspection of our basement which comprises our kitchen dining and living area. He uncovered the full extent of the damage and gave us clear guidance on what was needed to fully damp proof the basement and provide long term protection (10 year guarantee from Triton). It was a big and complex project which involved rebuilding the floor, rewiring the basement, plumbing. Jon project managed it all taking the stress of bringing the right people in at the right time away from us. His trusted contacts were all experts in their own area and had the same attention to detail, care and pride that Jon had. Jon talked us through each stage of works, always took the time to explain the processes around tanking, rendering, damp proofing that we didn't understand. He takes real pride in his work, his plastering and rendering work is meticulous and led to an excellent finish to all aspects of the job. He also improved drainage around our properly. I have no hesitation in recommending him highly to anyone needing a damp course/ full basement tanking.

I can absolutely second this.

We had a damp issue on an external wall in our kitchen due to some of the previous owner of our house's dodgy flooring work; the water was coming in under the back door and rising. John was the only professional to locate the source of the damp during the quoting process which says a lot for the other workmen out there in this field.

He is an absolute grafter, holds high standards of work and is a good communicator. There were a few other 'snags' he found when uncovering the previous owners work and was able to fix them too. We've now been through two winters after his work and there is no issues whatsoever- highly recommend.

I must give a shout out to JKA Damp Proofing & Plastering. Our Victorian house has suffered badly with damp and Jonathan had already sorted out an extensive problem downstairs and this time he has just fixed a damp problem in our bedroom caused by the original Victorian plaster failing.

It meant removing and saving a whole wall of (expensive) floor-to-ceiling fitted wardrobes as well as replastering. Jonathan coordinated with carpenters, a plumber for removing and refixing the radiators and even had a trusted decorator to recommend. The plaster work is really superior and the wardrobes are back in and look as good as new. Jonathan is really knowledgeable, experienced and hardworking.

You can contact him on 07713 187226.

Beware damp proof companies that simply want to sell you a chemical damp proof course!

I want to give a recommendation for John at JKA damp proofing. He completely tanked the basement during our building works and sika water proof rendered the outside of our property. He is meticulous in his work and takes a lot of pride in the work that he does. I would absolutely recommended him for all damp proofing works. His contact number is 07713 187 226

Totally agree. Jon Relph from JKA Damp Proofing and Plastering came round to look at internal cracks in our walls (old cracks that had opened up during the heatwave), and damp in the corner of a bedroom (rainwater coming in from outside). He recommended a detailed course of action for both jobs, gave us a reasonable quote, and told us when he could start (we only had to wait a few weeks), and then he and his team completed everything with minimal disruption - always turned up on time, took great care to protect floors and furniture, and cleared up carefully at the end of each day. All skirting boards, dado rails, power sockets, etc fixed back - the only thing left to do is paint. Jon himself is friendly and kind and very knowledgeable about buildings (he specialises in damp proofing basements, but is happy to carry out work anywhere) 07713 187226

We have just had Jon from JKA damp proofing to repair and stop the reoccurrence of cracks in the party wall. Mortar was raked out and helibars inserted. The walls were covered in stainless steel mesh and re plastered to a perfect finish (aspects of the hallway were even touched up which were not originally included in the quotation at no extra cost to ensure a great finish). Jon carried out the works to the highest standard and ensured the job was completed over a short period of time and to the highest professional standard. The hallway was completely covered to ensure minimal mess, pricing was reasonable, and Jon was friendly and hard-working throughout.

Jon at JKA Damp Proofing and Plastering just completed an external plastering job at Herne Hill Velodrome (stripping back the curved walls at the entrance to the original brickwork, shoring up what was there and re-rendering). It's not a simple task but it was completed in time to a high standard and Jon was pleasant and communicative throughout. I couldn't ask for more. And for a job that might have disrupted our neighbours or users, he was pleasant, friendly and (importantly) kept them all on our side. I would highly recommend.

Jon did a brilliant job in damp proofing the exterior of my victorian bay window. He removed the existing render, and then completely revamped the entire area at a very reasonable price. Jon was great to deal with, explained everything thorougly and delivered the job in a quick timeframe. Would definitely use again for any related work.

Another well deserved recommendation for JKA damp proofing! An excellent job done on our front bay window. To help sort a damp issue in our bedroom they did a new damp course but also a sorted out a windowsill that was in dire need of attention but now looks fantastic! Jonathan's professionalism, expertise and attention to detail (even down to the texture of the final look of the windowsill to match the victorian property) was second to none. We're very happy with the work and would highly recommend him if anyone needs similar work doing in East Dulwich!

Jon Relph from JKA Damp Proofing has sorted out our damp issue in your front bay window. I would thoroughly recommend him, the  attention to detail and the focus on keeping things tidy was really important to us, in fact we had just put new carpets down in the front room. The way he works meant they were completely protected. The new plaster its well blended in and he even carefully replaces all skirting boards that have to be removed when doing the damp proofing - so there its none of that fear you will have to struggle to get other trades people out after. Thoroughly recommend - 07713187226

Global issues all play their own parts (as they do with other countries) but the UK govt had  been especially abject for years. Improvements could not be made with them in power. That's not to say everything is all roses when they go To claim parties shouldn't try and sell themselves in an election is absurd - but if labour did overpromise or dig into specifics (which they partly couldn't because they didn't have their hands on the books) then we live in a country where a population and media is happy to punch on them and relect the shabby last govt I mean if any argument I made was supported by some posters I would rethink it but thats just me
