Hello everyone!

Spring is here and that means.. spring cleaning!! A lot of things you don?t need anymore are thrown away and end up in landfills, whereas others might find them very useful..

Towels, pet bowls/saucers, blankets, tupperware, dog and cat toys are just some things which the Blue Cross charity are always in need of. The closest Blue Cross hospital is based in central London Victoria. It opened in 1906 and has never closed its doors to animals in need since then. Victoria animal hospital treats thousands of pets every year, with treatments ranging from routine neutering to complex operations. They provide their services for people who cannot afford normal veterinary care, such as people on most benefits.

The hospital has it?s own facebook website: https://www.facebook.com/bluecrossvictoria/

They post on it almost daily, full of useful information for pet owners, ways to help the charity and how they have helped others.

Personally, I volunteer there and spend most of my time at the hospital, this is my way of trying to help them more and give back for how they helped me and my dog with kidney failure. Every little helps! They are always in need of cat food and dog food too, any kind.

They also have an amazon wish list, if you?d like to help that way.

If you?d like to donate something and you live close to Peckham Rye station but can?t make the trip to Victoria I could come and collect things off you to take to the hospital. Any questions, just send me a message :)

So if you feel generous, you can donate some things they might find useful, donate a ?1 or just spread the word! Thank you for reading.

Hi turkus,

I have some cat stuff: Royal Canin Renal Chicken wet food (one unopened box of 12 and 5 loose pouches - in date, but not to my cat's taste anymore - and also two sealed pots of PlaqueOff Dental powder for cats and an unopened pouch of PlaqueOff dental treats (PlaqueOff is seaweed based so not suitable for thyroid cats/dogs). All in date and available to donate to the Blue Cross.

Let me know if they could be useful.

I am based near the Horniman-end of Underhill Rd SE22.

    • Hello everyone, It's been a long time since I posted on here and I just wanted to update the situation. I remain active and available for haircuts. I am a home-visit hairdresser based in SW London. It's been a long time since I posted on here and I just wanted to update the situation. I remain active and available for haircuts. Some of you know me already. I posted a while back so I just want to re-introduce myself. I have been working as a hairdresser for the past 20 years (I'm 50, I trained at Vidal Sassoon and had a salon of my own, Top To Toe in Morden Jan 2000-Dec 2004) but now I just do freelance cutting hair for clients in their homes. I am available to answer queries if anyone has any? My speciality is cutting - men, women and children. I do have colour expertise so can advise but I do not colour hair at home. Thank you. There may be members of the forum who remember me coming to their home to do their hair in the 1990s! I have used the forum for a long time, as well also the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) newsletters back in the day. I have many clients with babies - it's one of the many reasons that people choose a home hairdresser. I always allow an hour and a half just in case there are interruptions in the haircut so that we are under no pressure. Finally I always make a policy to mention to new clients that I am transgender woman. I transitioned in 2009 and have reached the point when I "look" perfectly acceptable (I think, There is a profile photo which is up-to-date) however I make a point of being open about my history. If you are OK with that then I would be happy to cut your hair at your earliest convenience. My practice is that you do not wash your hair before I see you and I bring all equipment and styling products with me. All you need is shampoo and conditioner. p.s. If you do look at my website, I happen to be an artist and my website reflects that rather than hairdressing. Victoria Cantons
    • That's amazing nobody was seriously hurt, but good, obviously!
    • Vladi, you are wrong. The single wheel tag axle is fitted at the rearmost, behind the twin wheel, driven axle. This is obvious from photos of the upturned vehicle.
