buddug
LaineyB, you obviously care about children. You're a nanny for God's sake! You can't be as cruel as you sound. dbboy
James and Gavin, as local councillors is their something you can do to help these people find sheltered housing? ratty
Can I just say that Shelter are not the right people to inform. Southwark SPOT team (st Mungos) or London Street Rescue, Thames Reach are the right ones.both can be going by googling Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/22237-peckham-rye-park-and-the-new-dwellers/page/2/#findComment-526660 Share on other sites
northlondoner
Lainey, your tone is offensive to the head, heart and nostril. Unchallenged, it would have made the rest of us look silly , insular and smug. Thank goodness this thread hasn't gone the way you expected. buddug
And you have brought the issue to our attention, even if your sense of humour came over as rather off-kilter! We all make mistakes, lets face it. mustardandwine
I would advise anyone if you see a rough sleeper to call 0870 383 3333 to make a referral to Southwark SPOT or London Street Rescue. This line is staffed 24/7 and is the fastest way of getting people help via an outreach team. If you don't have a name give a very good physical description with details of when you have seen them most often (time of day, very specific location). If the people make the call themselves that's always better but if they're not engaging and a bit 'scary looking' that may not be likely.
