Handyman recommendation

Recommended Posts

I know people post from time to time asking for recommendations for handymen - so this is just to recommend Andy Jacob, who did some work for us very well yesterday. He fixed a cooker hood: we?d actually got a new one as we thought the old one was broken, but he just changed a fuse and got the old one to work. He also put up and connected some new bathroom lights for us. It?s the second time we?ve used him, and as before he?s been very conscientious, punctual and is reasonably priced and a nice guy. He?s on 07564 194363.

    • Shame, she seemed a decent Transport Secretary, it's not as if Grant Shapps never did anything wrong.  It's also a shame that some seem to enjoy these sorts of revelations. She declared the offence so not sure why she needed to resign.  I thought that in the UK we had a culture of forgiveness.
    • It looks like indiscretions, crimes, incompetency etc  by MPs generates a lot of responses so it might be a good time to start a new thread every time a new scandal emerges. Heaven knows there are enough of them from all parties.
    • It's not Thames Water's responsibility to keep Peckham Rye free of water, no. But the recent works designed to to hold water in the park: “capturing about 6 Olympic-sized swimming pools worth of surface water and releasing it very slowly”, where undertaken to stop houses from flooding. The increased risk of houses flooding is the result of a drainage and sewage system which are in dire need of upgrading / modernising, and unable to cope. And this, Thames Water are responsible for. We are paying for their under investment (over many, many years) in the drainage and sewage system; In cash terms - funding the works to modify the park, holding more water in it to, and through the loss of amenity that follows from the park being waterlogged more frequently.
    • Aria helped us out this week. He replaced ballcocks in our loft tanks. These had caused a leak whilst we were away on holiday. He also installed a new radiator. Responsive to our requirements. Communication was really good, costs reasonable.  Nice guy. Very happy to recommend.
