jc2
Can we not do anything to deter some parents stopping on Zig Zags outside schools to drop their kids off? Some parents really don?t care, even if confronted and there are no consequences.... Pugwash
I know that our ward police officers have turned up at schools where this is a problem and spoken with parents. Traffic Enforcement Officers do not appear to do anything about this. This has been a problem for over 20 years as my youngest is now in her 30s and we had the same issues back then. Sonners
Keep complaining to Southwark parking enforcement in the hope that they might do something about it if enough people complain... James Barber
Schools could install evidential quality CCTV and could even apply for funding for this from the council Cleaner, Greener, Safer funding streams. Perhaps even better option is the School Zone approach where the road is physically closed for school door and pick-up. Again apply for CGS funding to for the capital element of gaming this happen. Possibly moves the problem further away but that would dilute it at least. Angelina
This is a safety issue so clearly parents are not putting the children first. We had notices put up on the zigzag railing and school fences, which worked.School also had someone stand outside. I can't say your school will have the resources, but you could speak to teh school, speak to Southwark (maybe get the big, tie on notices) and maybe suggest a parent rota to ensure those who are flaunting the rules are stopped.Does the school have cones it can put outside?
