mrsbee
Can anyone tell me where my husband and I can take three children under the age of 5 (4,2 and baby) swimming. Southwark pools insist on 1 adult to 1 child so we can't go any of the local pools. I know we can go to Crystal Palace but was wondering where else we could go.Thanks Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/22090-swimming-with-3-children/ Share on other sites

Pickle
Beckenham Spa is another oprion, and possibly Bellingham Leisure Centre which is in the same group as Crystal Palace (assuming it has a pool that is, I have only been for soft play) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/22090-swimming-with-3-children/#findComment-524590 Share on other sites

Fuschia
I was talking about the Bridge btw Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/22090-swimming-with-3-children/#findComment-524623 Share on other sites
mrsbee
Thanks for the suggestions.I'll give the Bridge a ring.Pickle - Beckenham isn't possible just yet as they insist on 1 adult to 1 child for under 3s - so until the middle one is 3 we can't go there. Te
Do try Battersea Latchmere as well. They have a shallow/beach entry pool and a little elephant slide which keeps the elder kids amused. Free parking and the cafe area upstairs has a soft play section in it, though that is an extra cost. reneet
Why does Fusion insist on the 1:1. Its definately annoying. What facts/evidence do they use to back this up. We should do something. I have 2 children and I cannot take them swimming alone dispite the fact that one of them is prety confident in water. I don't want to go hunting around pools I want to use my local pool!!!!! EmilyE
Ours are a bit older 1, 4 and 6, but at the Fusion desk they clearly didn't think that was a problem, although in their literature they state 1:1 until 7, I think. Have you actually just turned up and tried? Though I can see that it would be exceptionally boring to be turned away... Gussy
What about Deptford wavelengths? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/22090-swimming-with-3-children/#findComment-524943 Share on other sites
catgirl
Deptford are strict on ratios. Have been told by them we'd need 3 adults to take our 3 there (aged 7,3,1)But we take all 3 to dulwich no problem and called to check the first time and they said it was fine. Maybe as one of them is over 5? Was also told at beckenham that 2:1 was fine as long as any non swimmers under5 had sone kind of flotation device on.
