Hello,

I just want to thank everyone for making me feel very welcome on Friday evening, I had a very enjoyable time meeting everyone. Thank you Georgia for getting the venue sorted and I'm looking forward to future events.

Thanks again,

Nuala

Hello,

What about the 29th February, it does not happen that many times.

I really like The Village, it was called Page Two, in Nunhead. it has a

lovely feel to the place, I asked two friends to come along tonight and they loved the pub, we started off in The Drum, another great place.

I'm a newbie but these two pubs are great with lovely people working there.

my local pub was The Castle, a fab place with the lovely, hard working Mary.

If you guys thought the Dog was staffed by rude people...you've got a whole lot to learn about the Upland!

29th is fine for me. I really don't mind where we go. If we do the Uplands in Feb, there's always March for the Village and April for the Oriwisu Spot. And I seem to recall that the Herne Tavern missed a slot in the Autumn. Roll on May...
I'm up for the 29th too. Don't really mind where, although the Castle might be interesting. Perhaps as additional entertainment, any potential future brides-to-be can bring the other half and propose over a chilled pint of Guinness. Then it's back to CWALD's afterwards for a sobering free range fried egg sandwich (or BBQ chicken;-)).

    • Just read this posting about the Blue Brick Cafe which I supported when they first applied to open. I Spoke out for them in front of three councillors because the council didn't want a cafe to continue there in a residential area. What a joy it has been seeing them there ever since and I though that it was the owner, Daniel, who had stopped putting the tables outside himself. Sorry to learn that it was Southwark Council putting a damper on things. I never noticed those table blocking the whole pavement and I live nearby and walk past regularly. One local, newly arrived resident in Fellbrigg Road tried the block the expansion of he North Cross Road street market some years ago - shame how some people have their own biased views. Sound like a bit of a situation up at the EDT though. Cheers!
    • Odd request but would love if available. anything 12-16mm
    • As a regular buggy pusher I've found the people on the kerb to be nothing like louts or yobs, but actually very friendly people who move when they see you or realise you are trying to pass.  May I suggest a smile and a hello to engage with your neighbours rather than labelling them all louts
    • There were a couple of incidents (pre pandemic) of possibly contaminated meat being left on Peckham rye. I remember having a conversation with one of the gardeners. Always best to be cautious
