mockney piers
No drink January for me so don't know if I'm popping in for this one. May say hello anyway but I'm weak, staying out of the pub is the only guarantee for me. mockney piers
I'm a wuss for 1/12 of every year .Well, in practice it usually works out as 1/24th, but I'll give it a good crack this time if it helps the missus quit the evil weed. Ant
Looking doubtful for me. That's Mrs Ant's last weekend before returning to work (boo!) so we'll probably be going out somewhere to mark the occasion. barrymarshall
Ooh, I missed the last one (the combination of office party and work mate's leaving do all in one on the same night as forum drinks) but I am pretty sure I can make this one, especially as it comes the day after pay day. Woo hoo! January will be a pretty tight month as it is, because I am having to make my salary stretch over six weeks, and what with Xmas and all ... I think I'll be needing a drink after all that ... ChavWivaLawDegree
Ok, maybe we can noisily spill out onto the hallowed streets of DV about 3-4am and wake all the non-slummy Gentry up when we are finished! MrBen
I keep wanting to come and meet all you lovely people. But there is always some very good reason I cant. And this time Jan 25th is Burns Night! However I had a tentative idea for Burns Night and was perhaps looking to send out feelers for a forum bash. To those who have never been Burns night is excellent even if you are not Scottish. The Plough is doing a thing on Thursday 24th with a piper, poetry readings and 3 course dinner with haggis! (think there is a veggie haggis too) , ticket only. I may start a thread nearer the time - but any Scots / non Scots up for it? Peckhamgatecrasher
Got mine from W Rose last year. Not their own made. It was nothing special, no diff to supermarkets. However, I picked up sausages at the same time for those wussie guests who can't stomach haggis(boom, boom) which were yummy. tarynlondon
My "honorary Scot" boyfriend introduced me to Burns night a couple of years ago and I really love hearing Burns poetry and eating vegetarian haggis (which is very delicious by the way!). I'd be interested in the night at the Plough... mlteenie
Would like to come but every year I have the same dilemma - Burns Night and then my bithday the next day. Always very 'tiring'. Suzi J
Hi all,My first post on the forum. Burns night at the Plough sounds good to me as myself and the boyfriend are new(ish) to the area and are both of a Scottish persuasion.Love haggis but can't promise to recite any Robert Burns...
