Hardly. Are you suggesting locals should ignore this stuff? They clearly have had problems with planning their opening but they haven't really engaged with their future customers and taken them with them. There is so much choice (a good thing surely) that new businesses have to really engage with locals.

They appear to have two separate websites, which is confusing.

I assumed the saucychip.com one above related to their mobile van business (I think they go to festivals etc?) and the saucyrestaurants.com one related to their restaurants , but who knows ......

Thanks for the support guys! Been a long hard slog and a huge investment which we have funded personally (before you judge, just imagine how unpredictable and expensive a renovation and launch like this is..) but we are finally nearly there. We look forward to seeing all of you when we open next week. 😊

Good luck Jules! Ignore these negative people. As fishbiscuits says, this forum can be toxic and the usual suspects are out in force on this thread for some reason.

Yes ignore the usual suspects. I wish you well too, nice to see something a little bit different opening on the lane. About time we had some variety. Hope it goes well. Btw to those complaining about the two different menus, it?s quite clear that they are both for two different things. Some people just say negative stuff for something to do I?m sure.

Thanks for clarifying! Yes of course it makes sense to have two separate websites for two different aspects of your business.

I was just confused because you don't seem to have a restaurant menu (or much information) on the restaurant website, but the restaurant opening comes up first on the catering website, but I can't see a menu there either....

Have I just missed them? Is there somewhere I should be clicking? My technological expertise is somewhat lacking :)

Please don't take this as a negative comment! I am looking forward to your opening, but I'd like to know what your menu will be!

ETA: And as somebody who also has to keep a website up to date, I do appreciate that at present you probably have a lot more priorities than updating your website!

Posh chips Louisa, posh chips...

can you share it?

What are you on about? I was referring to some negative comments associated with the confusion of two menu links, nothing to do with what?s on the menu. You tend to make some stupidly provocative points don?t you?

how is asking if you've seen something that you've claimed to have seen/know to be available (to know that there are 'obviously' two different things and to know that you think that they will bring something to the lane) but which I haven't been able to find 'provocative'?

unless you're full of BS and 'stupidly provocative' yourself?

Please pk stop with the grand standing. It comes across as passive aggressive and unnecessary. I have not seen a menu as you well know, because it?s not currently available online. I did read a menu a month or so back which I presume was taken down? But the point I am making is one about the obvious difference between two different menus. You know this.

Now let?s stop this bickering and wish this new venture well. I may even pop in myself for some chips.

we'll go with BS and 'stupidly provocative' then

or maybe provocatively stupid would be more accurate

Nothing could do that, surely :))

    • As well as the above, has anyone else noticed the massive amounts of gum being spat out all over as well as marking pavements? This is not only disgusting as gum will be laced with human germs and saliva but also places a large cleaning cost on already stretched services. Why do humans insist on spitting out gum onto the pavements? Why can't they dispose of it in a bin or take it home?
    • I think it’s often a lack of attention. I’ve seen owners a few times around the area and in the park not pick up and it’s been because they’re not paying attention to their dog(s) - distracted by their children/friend/phone - and their dog is behind them off lead and has quickly squeezed one out unseen. Obviously I point it out to the owner. The other gripe is that even if mess is picked up, it often leaves marks and streaks on the pavement that you equally wish to avoid stepping in. Better than a big chunky stool but still very annoying and can get in your shoe.
